Causes: Civil Rights, Lesbian & Gay Rights, LGBTQ
Mission: To connect, educate and advocate on behalf of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (lgbt) organizations.
Programs: The data obtained through our 2011 legislative survey project continued to be effectively analyzed and disseminated through meetings with lgbt leaders. Using that information, progress was made in educating leaders and facilitators, enabling them to more effectively communicate on lgbt issues. This expanded the creation of a structure of activists around the state to mobilize under a united lgbt voice. The education efforts focused on increasing awareness to the general public on lgbt issues, specifically legislative nondiscrimination protections. Continued to build foundational strengths to effectively produce positive communications and outcomes regardless of specific environmental factors, including government relations, communications, and law.
