Mission: First Trip works to increase diversity in study abroad and international affairs by alleviating inequitable barriers for underrepresented college students to travel abroad for the first time and pursue global careers.

Results: First Trip promotes global citizenship by conducting passport workshops, awarding study abroad scholarships, and providing global career mapping services for underrepresented students to travel abroad for the first time. We continue to work closely with academic institutions, international organizations, and business leaders who are committed to ensuring that future generations of global leaders and professionals mirror the nation’s diverse populace and intellectual perspectives.

Target demographics: Underrepresented college students

Direct beneficiaries per year: 25 students obtain their first passports, 4 students travel abroad

Geographic areas served: United States

Programs: passport workshops, travel scholarships, global career mapping services

As an international trade attorney, I am impressed by the work this organization does. I am a long-time donor and mentor for their career mapping program. Many bright HBCU college kids need the opportunity to study abroad and this program provides it to them.
