Mission: To combat drug and alcohol abuse in pennsylvania through partnerships with employers, employees, schools, public agencies and the media. In accomplishing its mission, the organization offers the following services: providing employers with affordable drug-free workplace programs, delivering media campaigns to raise awareness and inspiration, and promoting media literacy education to help youth become better decision makers.
Programs: Drug-free workplace education & program dev. - to increase employers' and employees' understanding of the devastating effects of substance abuse on families as well as on businesses' financial performance. To increase the number of organizations in pennsylvania that adopt drug-free workplace programs by offering a comprehensive plan that allows businesses to choose one strategy or multiple ones. To increase the number of parents who receive information about communicating with their children about drug and alcohol use.
media literacy - to teach middle school students how to critically evaluate the drug and alcohol information they receive from today's media by making students become media smart about the pro-drug messages and advertising methods glamorizing drug use and promoting unhealthy choices.
drug free youth assembly program and community outreach- to help youth understand the positive reasons to make healthy choices for life. Three programs are developed for elementary, middle school, and high school students.
