Nonprofit Overview
Mission: DREAM Dachshund Rescue, Education & Adoption Mission is a Houston-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to rescuing abandoned Dachshunds and finding new homes for Dachshunds whose owners can no longer care for them. Our committed volunteers, working closely with local veterinarians, provide our Dachshunds with quality medical care and loving foster homes until they are adopted into carefully screened, permanent homes. We also serve as a resource to our community, providing information on responsible pet ownership, the importance of spay/neuter, annual vaccinations, heartworm prevention, positive behavior training, exercise, and good nutrition.
Results: In our first year (2013) we rescued 151 stray, abandoned and owner surrendered Dachshunds and found forever homes for 89 of them. In our second year (2014) we rescued 227 more Dachshunds and found homes for 207!
Target demographics: Rescue Dachshunds that are abandoned, stray or surrendered by owners who can no longer care for them; and work to find new, loving forever homes for each one!
Direct beneficiaries per year: well over 200 abandoned, stray and owner surrendered Dachshunds.
Geographic areas served: Houston and surrounding areas
