Mission: Down East AIDS AIDS Network/Health Equity Alliance empower marginalized communities to improve their health and wellbeing and affect social and cultural change by facilitating collaboration, education, advocacy and action.
Programs: Community/ capacity building: founded health equity center, for lgbt health programming in bangor. Hosted harm reduction conference attracting over 80 providers. Health promotion: funded/conducted over 750 hepatitis c screenings. Provided harm reduction education and clean syringes to over 600 people who inject drugs. Case management: expanded hiv medical case management services to serve 135 people living with hiv throughout northern maine. Provided over 26,000 in client financial assistance to support medical needs of people living with hiv.
