Mission:
Crittenton Women''s Union transforms the course of low-income women''s lives so that they can attain economic independence and create better futures for themselves and their families.
We accomplish this by:
- Providing safe housing, caring supports, education, and training programs;
- Innovating new programmatic designs based on research and client experience;
- Using this knowledge and experience to shape public policy and achieve social change.
Target demographics: Low-income women in the greater Boston area.
Geographic areas served: Greater Boston Area
Programs: Crittenton Women's Union conducts rigorous research into the economic, political and social barriers disadvantaged women face in their efforts to gain economic security. We also continully assess our own programs and apply this date to create new and innovative paths out of poverty. We also use our research, combined with our hands-on client experience, to advocate for public policy and legislation to remove obstacles along the road to economic independence.
