Cozy Cat Cottage helped us with a litter of kittens we found outside last year. I had two house bunnies and two cats of my own (all spayed/neutered), plus five foster baby bunnies and unfortunately the inn was too full to keep the kittens long term. A very helpful volunteer at Cozy Cat gave me some tips on bottle feeding, litter training and weaning to wet and then dry food. Once the kittens were weaned to dry food I took them to Cozy Cat where they were vetted and adopted. When I brought the kittens to Cozy Cat, a different volunteer showed me around and talked about their facility, answered random questions from me and let me meet some of the cat residents. On another occasion one of their volunteers helped me rescue a stray black cat on Halloween Eve in a busy parking garage in downtown Columbus. She crawled all over the cement floor with me dragging a scarf to lure the terrified cat from under cars. We have a full house right now, but I would work with Cozy Cat again any time for Good Samaritan surrenders or to adopt. I hope they are still around in 15 or 20 years when it's time to add to our family again.

All three of our cats are Cozy Cat Cottage rescues. I especially appreciated how they followed up with us a few weeks after adoption to see how the cats were faring, offered advice and suggestions as needed, and really showed they cared about the cats’ welfare long term.

I believe my donations will always be well used here to support the kitties. I first found Cozy Cat Cottage in 2006. We adopted our first kitty from them that year. He grew up to be a big, beautiful boy, living 16 years. Cozy Cat was very clean and staff & volunteers were very helpful in choosing our kitty. In 2023 we adopted our second Cozy Cat Cottage kitty. This wonderful, privately owned, no-kill shelter was our first (and last) stop when deciding to adopt again. It had moved to a new location since our first adoption. Again, this facility was sparking clean and odor free. The staff and volunteers were wonderful and welcoming. Many kitties wandered free in a safe environment with toys, water, food and litter pans readily available. Many came to greet us. They have private cubicles that provide space for potential pet parents and adoptees to play together to help you choose the right, new family member. This is an organization that I am happy to donate to knowing my money will be well used to help kitties find new, loving homes. They also help support homeless kitties that live outdoors throughout the city. They occasionally have food drives to provide food to those people throughout the Columbus area who are trying to help outdoor, homeless kitties survive. I believe this organization always puts the kitties first and takes wonderful care of them until they find their forever homes.

CCC is a very clean, organized place. When you walk in, you are able to see all of the kittens and cats that are up for adoption. You are given all the information about an animal that was made available to CCC, as well as documentation of all medical services and inoculations given the cats. All are microchipped as well. Workers are helpful and kind, and it is obvious they love their work with the felines. I highly recommend CCC if you are looking for a cat(s).

Cozy Cat Cottage is an amazing organization that works tirelessly to help as many of these precious kitties as possible. I’ve adopted from them, donated to them, and recommended them to friends. I’m confident that they always put the welfare of the cats first, and they do a great job of giving them all a cozy and love-filled life until they can find a forever home.

The warm atmosphere and the authentic excitement shown when a cat is adopted is the reason I chose them again for a second adoption. They were thorough but still made the experience from start to finish easy. The center is so clean and the cats so happy roaming freely- instantly fell in love with the place. I would absolutely recommend Cozy Cat Cottage to anyone looking for a new fur-baby. We just love our diluted calico tabby, Mina (ccc Karen) and our little tuxie man, Simon (ccc Barney).

My daughter and I have volunteered with Cozy Cat Cottage for 3 years. We help clean the shelter, take cats to adoption events and foster kittens. We've visited several cat shelters in the area and every one of them has an odor to them, except Cozy Cat. They have very high standards for keeping the shelter clean and the cats safe. What most people don't know is that the adoption fee doesn't cover even half of the cost of caring for the cats. All the cats receive the best health care, immunizations, food, and spay/neuter. I highly recommend checking them out if you have any interest in adoption or volunteering with cats.

We are very upset with the treatment from Cozy Cat Cottage! Here is what happened

We have spoken with Cozy Cat Cottage previously about this situation. We dropped off a little 6 week old baby boy (kitten) September 3, 3 months ago. They named him Phelan (Baby Blue is what we called him). We have been calling and volunteering checking to see when he will be neutered. We have asked you to let us adopt him back from you guys once he was neutered. You told us you can't hold a kitten for us. Fine, I understand that. However, we called and volunteered and checked on Phelan for 3 months. Once the staff tells me he doesn’t weight enough to be neutered. One week I was told he was adopted and then they changed it and said “we use to have 2 named Phelan and 1 was adopted and the 2nd doesn’t weigh enough yet. We were told to check back in a week. I've also been told by the staff there that they have no idea. First off how can you not know all you have to do is look him up or even look us up. Do you not want to adopt him back to us? We will pay your $100. At the time when we found him he was still so young he required us feeding him with a bottle every 3 hours and we just couldn't do it and didn’t know how to care for a kitten that young. It has nothing to do with us having room in our house or hearts for him because he had already taken our hearts. We have loved that little guy and still do which is why we were trying to get him back. I didn’t know what the problem was and continued asking them to please tell me if if they still had him and when he will be neutered? How much does he weigh? If it's true that he doesn't weigh enough he's 4 months old how can he not weigh enough to be neutered? We found him and med vet has estimated his age to be 6 weeks. They had had him for 3 months that makes him at least 4 months. He weighed 8oz according to Med Vet when we had him 3 months ago. Is he not eating ok, is his health ok?

After all this effort they finally responde…
Cozy Cat Cottage response...
I found Phelan. He was adopted to a nice lady in November.

He had his neuter surgery on 11/17/22 and went home on the 19th.

For 3 months we kept asking about Phelan checking on him trying to find out when he'd get neutered so we could adopt him. They just kept telling us he didn't weigh enough or they didn't know anything. They blatantly lied to us.
Don't take you cats or kittens to this place. Cat welfare is a much better place.

The professionalism and organization of this place is unacceptable. My partner and I went to pick up our forever kitten two days after placing our deposit and paperwork for her. She was put on hold for us and was promised to have her ready on the agreed pick up date. We walk in to find out she had been adopted by another family.

Imagine the pain of having a promised family member taken away. The news was brought upon us in a joking manner. The volunteer we were working with laughed with another volunteer and to us saying how much trouble she’s in for this. We genuinely thought it was a joke, poking fun at our excitement. It seemed some previous paperwork for her was not pulled out which resulted in a promise never to be fulfilled. They responded saying we could find another cat within the shelter. We spent over 2 hours spending time with each cat available, and chose a specific one and expect to come out with her. This was not an opportunity for a potential pet. We signed and agreed for a new family member. Family members are not replaceable just like that.

We spent the two days between the deposit and our promised pick up date setting everything up so our baby could come home to the perfect place and settle in. We spent hours cat proofing the space, hours buying supplies and play things catered towards her, already contacted our landlord and friends announcing our excitement for a new family member. Only knowing her for two days we spent hundreds to supply for her and hours doing the research for the best. We were prepared to commit many many years with her only to never see her again.

We do not fault the family in the process. They have gotten the most perfect cat and hope for the best for them. We are very disappointed and heartbroken from the disorganization of paperwork and response from the volunteer. This could have easily been avoided. She was already considered a family member, and will always hold a place with us.

I had just lost my 12 yr old kitty, Cleo a lynx point Siamese, to cancer, and my 18 yr old kitty, Elton a tuxedo kitty, was very lonely. I contacted Cozy Cat Cottage and they helped me find my precious Dolly, a ragdoll kitty who is just a year old.

They are so kind and loving to all their cats and to visitors that come to see them. I follow their Facebook page snd witness the hundreds of adoptions facilitated by CCC. It’s a beautiful site to see. So many happy people adopting their new kitty friends

Not only that but, they trim the adopted cat’s nails and matted fur on longer haired cars like mine!

I would recommend them to all my friends. Fantastic work!

I first heard of Cozy Cat Cottage through a friend that volunteered. So, naturally when it was time for our family to adopt, we chose CCC. They are wonderful from the start!! All of the volunteers were ready to answer any questions we had. We eventually decided that we wanted to volunteer as a foster family. CCC walked us through the process and were always available to support us. I love that they are huge advocates for the cats and kittens that pass through the shelter. My family loves Cozy Cat Cottage and all that they stand for, as well as for their true love of the cats.

I started looking for a kitten or cat in January. I visited several shelters looking for the right fit. Not only the kitty but the care the kitty received beforehand. I visited Cozy Cat a couple of times. On the last visit I came specifically to see a kitten that I saw on their webpage. He was and is the sweetest. He was fostered in a loving home and has the best temperament He developed some sniffles a few days after I adopted him and it was the weekend and I couldn’t reach my vet. I emailed CCC and they let me bring him in for treatment. I appreciated that so much. The staff at CCC is very knowledgeable and caring. When it’s time for me to adopt again, there will be no need to shop around. I’ll definitely go back to Cozy Cat.

I've been volunteering at Cozy Cat Cottage for almost 3 years and am still amazed at what goes on behind the scenes. Kittens and cats come in with horrible back stories, big eyes and sad cries and the medical team joins forces and do ALL THEY CAN to help them. There are so many balls in the air at CCC. Also, if you ask any of the medical team or technicians about how a particular cat or kitten is doing, they do not need to pull charts, they know on the spot, they remember. Overall, CCC is a tough, intelligent, useful, resourceful and loving shelter, a combination needed to help those animals that cannot help themselves.

Awesome organization with a cat's best interest in mind always. None are ever turned away, the various volunteers, knowledge and experience of all and medical staff of course all combine to form the best decisions and ideas. Often a cat will arrive that is not good with people and scared, but the patience, love and acceptance of all the workers and volunteers at CCC gives them a second chance, if not third, forth, etc. Constant resources are utilized, heads joined to make decisions, great communication within. It is truly a wonderful place for all types of cats due to the many "cat whisperers" at CCC!

Where do I begin.... Guess at the beginning...My Blackie Brunswick was 14 years old when he passed to the rainbow bridge.. He was sick most of his like with us... The day came when he was gone... I wanted to get another kitty because i missed Blackie so much. but my hubby was stll heartbroken...So we waited a year.. I started to look at rescues, and decided Cozy Cat Cottage was the right one for me.. I would go in every two weeks, can visit kitties.. The staff and medical team were so very nice to me.. One week I went in, and was ready for a kitten.. I had 4 black kittens in my arms, and Amy added 1 more... This kitten was it. He crawled over the others, and said I am yours... I adopted him, and we went home.. The next day he got sick.. Cindi the director said to come in and she would meet me..Turned out he had a stomach bug. Cindi decided to keep him and get him well... He needed to stay for 10 days of meds... Each day the medical team would give me and update.. They were all so kind and caring. Finally he got to come home.. He has been with us for 6 years.Knowing how caring Cozy Cat Cottage is I decided to volunteer there.. I have been with them for over 5 years now.. It has been a very wonderful experience. They will do whatever they can to help, and save kitties.I feel so lucky to be part of this great rescue..

Two years ago this week I lost my sweet Blackie cat.....I was heart broken and wanted another kitty.. I knew of one place, and checked them out, but I didn't find my new love... I went to the site that helps you match with kitties.. Cozy Cat Cottage came up with kitties I was looking for.. I went to there Website, and found so many pictures of kitties... I spent a lot of time on the site... One day I decided to go see the kitties. I was very impressed with the facility.. The staff was very caring, and so very helpful.. The facility was clean, and the kitties were very healthy. Healthy was important to me because my cat was sick his 14 years... First time I didn't find my kitty, but I was told to come back in a couple of weeks, and I did. I saw so many kittens and kitties, and it was hard to choose.. I had 3 kittens in my arms and saw another one, and asked to see him... He purr and kissed me.. I know he was the one.... He went home with me that morning.. He did get a kitten bug, and I called Cozy Cat Cottage.. The director Cindi came in that evening to meet me and my kitty... She said he needed some meds for 14 days... They put him in the medical unit, and everyday they emailed me his progress.. it was so wonderful of them to treat him ... After his meds he came home with me... He is a very healthy 13 month old boy... I was so impressed with them that I started to volunteer for them... There are others things that make them so great, but one that is personal to me finding my kitty... I did go by another place, but then again that place was not for me... I made the perfect choice...

When we moved to Ohio about 20 years ago, I had two cats. When one of them passed away I looked for somewhere to get a kitten. I found Cozy Cat and went there and found my Callie Girl. She was beautiful and healthy and we took her home 12 years ago.

When you enter Cozy Cat you will not find any bad smells like I had in New York. The place is very clean and the cats are taken care of with a lot of love.

We wanted another cat a couple years ago and we went back and found Lucy.

I would never go anywhere else for my adoptions because Cozy Cat will not kill any cats, they will take care of them and love them until they find their forever home!!!!!

I had a great experience with Cozy Cat Cottage! I adopted my cat Ted from CCC. Cozy Cat maintains a clean, welcoming facility and provides top-notch vet care. My adoption process was so easy and smooth (and as a responsible rescue, they did an appropriate job of evaluating me to make sure the cat I was adopting was going to a good home). The adoption fee was an absolute steal for the fully vetted, neutered, and microchipped kitty I got in return! The volunteers and staff are wonderful and truly care about the cats and help socialize them while they are waiting for their forever homes. They even called me about a month after the adoption to ensure he was adjusting well to his new home. Cozy Cat performs such an important function in our community by rescuing cats, promoting spay/neuter to reduce overpopulation, and educating the public on animal welfare issues. I am so thankful to Cozy Cat every day because they gave me the best cat I've ever had! My cat Ted was healthy, friendly, & full of personality since the day I brought him home, and I am so grateful for everyone involved with CCC! My name is Paul Mihalik, and I am a certified cat trainer through Animal Behavior College. I first found out about Cozy Cat Cottage because I needed 20 hours as an intern to complete my certification. I chose CCC because of how clean and professionally run they were. They have on-site vet techs who are very proactive, and an impressive set of procedures for animal care.

Even after my internship was completed, I continue to volunteer at CCC because of the love and dedication I see that they have for all the animals in their care, no matter how chronically ill or what challenges a cat might have, they are never put down. Instead they work hard to make sure every animal is well treated and can live as full of a life as possible. I’ve gained a lot both personally and professionally through my association with Cozy Cat Cottage, and I’m proud to be a volunteer there.

We adopted 2 cats here in 2019: one adult and one kitten. The cats were well cared-for and had plenty of space to roam at CCC. Unlike other rescues we visited which were smelly and overcrowded, CCC was well-run and calm. They had biographical info on all of the cats and made sure they had vet checks, microchips and shots and spay/neuter before adoption. They also called us about a week after we adopted to check in and make sure we had scheduled well-cat visits at a vet. Great care for the kitties!

We adopted a cat from Cozy Cat in fall of 2019. The adoption center was clean, the staff was so nice, and we were able to hold and meet a few cats before finally finding one who wouldn’t stop purring or let go! We brought home Fiddler (then Sunny) and he has been the best addition to our family. When we adopted him, he had a hernia and they were quick to repair it and took great care of him! He recovered very quickly and has never had any health issues since! I highly recommend Cozy Cat!

Surely Cozy Cat must be doing some good. I agree with Maggie, however. I had a similar experience with an adult cat who needed housing almost two years ago. I was desperate to find even a temporary place for her. The person in charge just said, no room here and didn't appear interested or very helpful. I was forced to leave her in a friends basement. She became trapped in the sump area there, unbeknowest to me, and two nights later died. It was absolutely heartbreaking.

It is very hard for us to turn down a feline in need, but we are keenly aware that we cannot save them all and our first obligation is to provide food, medical care, and shelter to our current residents. We receive no federal, state, or local funding. We can only take in felines as room and funds permit.

Went to other adoption places. This one was the best. I got a 3 month old kitten. They care about their cats. You have to agree that if you ever had a reason to have to give up cat (there are very few REAL reasons for this), you have to bring back to them. They do NOT want any more cats on the street. Who would give up a family member anyways? :/

I have "hung out" at other places. This place put all others to shame. I LOVE this place!!!!!

They shower them with lots of love and attention, which helps them get adopted sooner. I fostered a litter of five kittens for them last year and it was a wonderful experience. I ended up adopting two of them - a beautiful tuxie and a tortie - and the other three were adopted right away. I have been volunteering here for over a year. While I love animals more than anything else, in the past I have never volunteered at an animal rescue center for very long simply because the animals weren't the sole focus of the group or it was too hard to see an animal you've grown to love put to sleep because it was too old or didn't get adopted quickly enough. At cozy cat cottage, this is not the case. Each and every cat is loved and taken care of. Everyone is there to help the cats. The volunteers all know each and every cat and their personality. I've never been anywhere that cares so much about helping animals. I'm proud to say that I volunteer here.

When we lost our 16 year old kitty, a friend referred us to Cozy Cat Cottage. Many things were evident when we walked through the door...first was that all of the cats and kittens were obviously very healthy! No runny eyes or sneezing ~ and, although there were many many kitties to choose from, it was not over-crowded and amazingly the shelter did NOT have an odor. The shelter was very very clean! We adopted a sweet kitten rescued from a country road. She had been ill and in the nursery for weeks getting well. They didn't give up on her and we are so grateful. We since have brought in 3 rescued pregnant mama kitties and they all have found great homes - kittens and mama's! We actually ended up adopting one of the mama's! I was so moved by our experiences that I became a volunteer and am now a board member. I now witness, from behind the scenes, the high level of professionalism of everyone there and - MOST importantly, the high level of care and compassion given to every kitty no matter the age or health. We go the extra mile, and then some for every single one! In my opinion, there are not enough stars to rate this shelter as highly as deserved!

I first started dealing with CCC in 2010. I had a litter of feral kittens and Cindi helped me get them spayed and neutered and gave me great advice on how to find them good homes. None of the other rescues would help me. I was impressed at how beautiful and clean the place is. You would never have guessed there were a lot of cats inthe building. In 2012, I lost my job. Again, Cindi helped me with food for my own furbabies when I was desperate. I really appreciated her caring, loving attitude and all of her help. Without CCC's guidance I would never had gotten the feral popula@tion in my neighborhood under control! I go in every so often to see the kitties and donate when I can. I have referred many friends to CCC and they are delighted with the furbabies they adopted there. CCC is a true asset to Columbus and the surrounding cities.

Cozy Cat Cottage has been SO WONDERFUL to me over the last couple years. I came across CCC while looking for somewhere to take a cat that I found abandoned at my apartment complex. I wanted to make sure that he was truly abandoned and not microchipped. So CCC said I could bring him in and they would check. He was not chipped and although not in the greatest shape from being outside I told CCC I would take him home with me. They were so happy I was taken him in! They gave me so much encouragement. They let me know they were doing a low cost spay and neuter (since Sampson was estimated 2 years and not neutered we wanted to take care of it asap) they were able to fit Sampson in and get him fixed for us. I just really love all the CCC community that has formed from that organization. If you have questions or concerns they will answer, and my Sampson was not even a CCC cat! Amy and Cindi are specifically special to me as they have helped me numerous times. We unexpectedly lost Sampson 6 months after having him, and we did not have the money to have him cremated. Amy heard of this and called rascals animal hospital and got Sampsons remains for me... She is so wonderful. I don't know what I would do without my Sampson now that I have him safe with me at home. Months later when looking for another cat I saw a post on Facebook of not one but two older adult cats. The community that is CCC is SO AMAZING. That when we fell in love with those two older adult cats someone took care of their adoption fee, not only that but numerous people dropped off food/litter to me and CCC for those two adult kitties supporting the adoption of two adults finally getting adopted. And I couldn't have been more grateful. It was then I truly fell in love with cats and CCC. My Skeeter and Ali whom are aged 10-15 are such a blessing to my life. And if it were not for Cozy Cat I wouldn't have had these sweet babies. Anyone, looking for a wonderful organization to support in Columbus area definitely choose CCC. When you have a CCC cat you become part of a family. I have so much joy posting updates STILL of my babies! The employees/volunteers remember my babies and love them too! Cozy cat is an organization unlike any I've ever seen and to be a small tiny teeny part of it is extremely rewarding to me. We love you Cozy Cat!

In May, our 6 year old cat Holly passed away from cancer. Our other cat, Ivy, was so lonely that she would wander the halls and yowl outside our bedroom door most of the night looking for her sister. As we had adopted both Holly and Ivy from the Cozy Cat Cottage when they were kittens, we decided to visit them again to see if they had any kittens that might help Ivy cope with the loss of her sister. The day we were there, almost all of their available cats were adults. They were very sweet cats, but we didn't want to risk there being dominance fighting in the household.

Cozy Cat did have two 7 month old kittens (sisters) who were very friendly. They were older than what we had been hoping to find, but were so affectionate that we fell in love with the both of them. We had only been looking for one kitten, but we wound up adopting them both. (We just couldn't decide on only one of them, and it seemed wrong to separate the sisters.) All of their cats available for adoption are already spayed/neutered and microchipped, so that was one less thing for us to need to worry about.

The Cozy Cat Cottage staff spent a long time with us, helping us come up with a plan for introducing the new kittens to Ivy. Thanks to their help and advice, Ivy has quickly accepted her newly adopted little sisters without any fighting at all from either side. (She has also stopped her middle of the night opera singing as she is no longer lonely.)

Ivy regularly plays with her little sisters (Polly, a polydactyl kitten and Missy, short for Mistletoe) She is very gentle with them (for which we are glad as they are about half her size currently). The 3 girls spend a lot of time together. And while we have yet to see Ivy curl up to nap with them, we have seen them all napping on our bed at the same time, with only a little space between them. It's only a matter of time before we expect to see them all curled up in a big ball together.

Thanks to the Cozy Cat Cottage, instead of one very lonely and very sad cat, we now have 3 happy, healthy, and very snuggly cats. And by sheer coincidence, all 3 are tuxedo cats. The kittens look enough like our Ivy and spend enough time with her that they could be mistaken as her kittens instead of her adopted little sisters. The Cozy Cat Cottage staff even called us recently to see how the 3 girls were getting along and to see if we needed anything at all. Clearly, they care about the cats in their care, even after those cats have been adopted.

Cozy Cat Cottage is a wonderful rescue, always taking in cats and kittens that barely have a chance, and taking the time to provide medical care and love until they are healthy and able to be adopted. The facility is a clean, cage free environment in which cats can wander and have room to run and play, but they are equipped with separate quarantine rooms to ensure successful treatment of sick cats and kittens without compromising the overall health of the shelter. I came to Cozy Cat to adopt my first cat in 2013, but was soon back to volunteer and eventually adopted another cat! Both had quality medical care I know they would not have received at any other rescue. Thanks to Cozy Cat, I was able to adopt two cats which would likely have never been given a chance to fight at any other place!

I adopted my first cat Jillian from Cozy Cat Cottage. I had gone in with the intention of adopting a kitten and eventually declawing the kitten, not knowing how bad declawing is. The adoption counselor was amazing and talked me into looking at the cats that were already declawed and was very kind about educating me. I end up finding the best adult cat just because of that. I later adopted two other cats from there and volunteering. The facility is amazingly clean and the cats that are visible to the public are healthy and happy. The sick cats get regular vet care and medicine. I love that Cozy Cat is a no kill shelter and will only euthanize if the cat is in pain and can't be cured. The love and money put into each individual cat is amazing and wonderful and is what keeps me coming back, volunteering and donating.

My first experience with Cozy Cat Cottage was when I was working near the adoption center. I have always loved cats and had been holding off on getting a cat until the right time. I went to just explore the cats and get a little cat love time and the volunteers there were very helpful and weren't upset that I just came in to get a little cat love. A year later it was time for me to get my first cat since graduating from college and I went to the shelter with a very clear view in mind of what cat I was going to get. I wanted a tabby kitten. Little did I find out that the shelter takes in previously owned cats that have already been declawed and I wanted a cat without claws so they directed me to the cats that were declawed. I picked up my Jillian and fell in love instantly. I ended up leaving with a completely different view and cat. The shelter educates it's future pet owners and helps the cats live the best life. They did not want me to get my new cat declawed so they showed me cats that had already been declawed. They believe that it is inhumane and that it is akin to cutting our fingers off down to the first knuckle. They changed my view and my next cat still has his claws and there are no problems. They are also very willing to take back cats that have previously been adopted. They would rather get a return than the cat be thrown out due to a problem. They are very helpful and took me in with open arms when I wanted to help out and get even more cat time. I now clean the rooms for the sick kitties and you can see how much love and attention all of the cats get and how well the sick ones are taken care of. I hardly have to do anything because they are so well cared for and frequently cared for that their quarentine rooms are very clean and easy to tidy up. This cleanliness can be said about every aspect of the shelter.

Cozy Cat Cottage is special and clean. To many strays kitties it is a dream. There is so much to do, I swear that it's true. Like scooping poops and jumping through hoops. The things I have done are second to none. From vacuuming to swabbing the floors, even using windex on the doors. Making kicker toys with catnip, but don't take a dip! From Washing kitty cat bowls and checking blankets for holes. And who can forget the annual event but the best thing is seeing kittens and cats get the very best care at the Cozy Cat lair! CCC is the most well run and fiscally responsible shelter I have ever seen. the love and tender care given so selflessly - is truly amazing! I have volunteered with this nonprofit for several years. I love that I can walk in and play with all the cats on the adoption floor. The only cats in enclosures are in them for their safety due to size or if they have tested positive for FIV. This is a place where all cats get a chance even those with FIV, most shelters put FIV + cats to sleep.

The volunteers are knowledgeable and friendly; they want each cat to go home to the right home that is going to love them.

The directors are awesome. I have made many friends over the years.

We were searching for a kitten, and found the perfect one at Cozy Cat Cottage. Everyone was helpful. I was impressed by the number of volunteers who were happily working away, cleaning thoroughly, checking on every detail for the cats' well-being, and interacting lovingly with the cats. The design of their facility provided a variety of environments. Since the kitten in which we were interested was not quite cleared/available for adoption, we needed to wait another day. No problem for us, as we wanted the best outcome for her. We appreciated that the CCC cared for the cats' well-being. Clearly, everyone at CCC knew the cats and cat behavior very well, and they were focused first and foremost on the well-being of the animals and making appropriate decisions about placement in forever homes.. We were able to take little Jasmine into a separate room to get to know her before deciding to adopt. Things went well, and playful, silly Jasmine is now our little one. I would recommend CCC most highly to folks who are looking for a cat or kitten.

When I moved to Columbus, I googled nonprofit no kill cat only shelters and found Cozy Cat! I visited and right away felt that this was a place I could get behind and volunteer with. Amy, Cindi and the other volunteers were very knowledgeable about each cat which was impressive considering the number of cats. The shelter was kept very clean, due to a great supportive volunteer community. I volunteered for cleaning shifts for a few months as well as taking cats for showings at PetCo/Smart to help gain visibility and increase adoptions. Eventually my husband and I adopted two FIV+ male cats (adopted a year apart from one another) and have been fostering mama cats and their kittens intermittently for the last two years. Cozy Cat has been very supportive of us during each adoption and throughout our fostering experiences. They have a very active Facebook page and are well known and respected in the Columbus MSA especially for their TNR and rescue work. Our now healthy kitties were rescued when they were on death's door, but Cozy Cat did not give up on them. I have seen this time and again and it makes me feel so proud to support and be a part of such a wonderful organization!

We my mother and I went to cozy cat cottage to get a new cat. They the staff were so helpful and considerate of my mother who an elderly person. They got her a chair and put a towel on the chair. They brought out trixie, they explained that she was born in a barn, so she was feral. She sat on my mom's lap and purring away. She let me hold her and purred also. They have been there for me when we first got her. They go out of there way to rescue animals, staying up with kitties that have been abandoned, bottle feeding them. They deserve an award I never seen such a caring shelter for kitty and cat furbabies. Trixie although was feral she is the snuggler. Our mother has passed on trixie was comforting to mother. God bless all of them. They deserve like I said they go out of the way to help abandoned animals

Cozy Cat Cottage is a sanctuary for cats that operates at the highest levels of cleanliness and health that I have ever seen in a cat rescue. They are VERY picky about who adopts the cats that come there. They believe that the CATS COME FIRST and the humans are integrated around the cats. The love they have for our 4 legged feline friends is top notch and I have adopted several there and multitudes of my family and friends have as well.

The volunteers are very helpful and knowledgeable and continue to be supportive through social media. the center is very clean and organized and the volunteers work tirelessly for the animals between placing them in loving homes and seeing to their health and well-being. they continue community support by offering low cost vet clinics and spay/neuter clinics. Started my experience with this agency as a high school volunteer many years ago, then I convinced my parents to get a black cat named Salem in 2006. The agency did a great job explaining cat care and adoption procedures and Salem was a great girl. Sadly she passed away in May but Cozy Cat was very supportive and a month later helped my parents get two more felines. Both felines are both very happy with my parents and cozy cat always welcomes updates on their cats and they have given me great advice on my own two stray cats I've taken in. Great shelter all around!

I first learned about Cozy Cat Cottage when I was an employee at Petco, who works with CCC to promote adoption of homeless cats. I enjoyed talking with the kind volunteers and noticed how dedicated they were to making sure that all of their cars were healthy and happy. I became a volunteer myself and was impressed with the size and quality of their facility in Powell. It was clean, spacious, and filled with cat furniture, toys, large food dispensers, water fountains, (litter boxes of course), and special areas for quarantine of sick cats. From my experience, Cozy Cat Cottage provides a loving, safe place for these beautiful animals, that fulfills their physical, emotional, mental, and social needs. Every volunteer I have interacted with has shown dedication and love for animals.

I found a young cat curled up under a van last night. I couldn't just leave the poor thing, since it was going to be in the low twenties that night. I got out of my car and called to the cat, amazingly, it came right out and over to me, eager for love. My mom had volunteered for Cozy Cat in the past, so i reached out to them for help. Right away, someone responded with ideas for where to post about the cat to try to find an owner. They also recommended that I take the cat to the vet to have it checked for a tag. Unfortunately, there was no tag, and the cat was so dirty that i am convinced that it hasn't had a home in a long while. I'm so glad to know that there is an organization so willing and happy to help any and all cats in need.

A stranger on facebook posted that she saw a kitten that was not doing so well outside while she was doing her paper route. She said her paws were in poor shape and a vet said possible gangrene and may need amputated. I shared her post with some rescue friends who then contacted Cozy Cat Cottage. We are talking midnight to 3 a.m. that this transpired! Cozy Cat Cottage agreed to help this sweet kitty from Jackson, Ohio. Two people met in the middle to transport Lily. Lily had an URI and her nails had curved into her paws. CCC fixed her right up and now Lily is in her forever home, warm, safe, and well. I can't thank CCC for all that they do without hesitation, no matter what time.

Cozy Cat Cottage is the most well-run rescue group that I have encountered. Most recently a little black kitty made his way to my porch and when I fed him I noticed a large cut in his underarm. I searched many rescues looking for "good sam" funds to get this poor kitty some medical care. Cozy Cat Cottage took him in to see their vet, had him neutered and his wounds treated, and will keep him until he is healthy enough to be adopted. While all shelters and rescues are always overfull, Cozy Cat Cottage will bend over backwards and do whatever they can to help a kitty in need. They have a great adoption center and a well trained staff of volunteers. Their founder is the most dedicated of any person I know. I highly recommend adopting your next kitty from this wonderful group so they can continue rescuing more needy kitties and giving them a second chance at a good life.

After I lost my last rescue kittie at 20 ( his brother passed 2 yrs earlier) I was good living "furr free" I traveled a lot and thought it best.....but 6 months later I started making the rounds at local rescues. The 3rd on the tour was Cozy Cat and referred by 3 trusted friends who have numerous rescues from Cozy Cat. We'll after visiting the first 2 I was going to call it quits but my friend was waiting for me at Cozy Cat. When I walked on I was pleasantly surprised by the mature cats up front, clean, friendly, odor free. When we walked into the back ...my heart was full....Kitties playing inside and outside of their cages, totally well cared for. I fixated on my boy..he was 8 months..but wanted to adopt a pair. She was up front - 16 months, so shy at first and I am blissfully a furr mom again. For the last 2.5 years.....and loving every furr moment. Thank you Cozy Cat for rescusing my forever furr kids for me. Blessed....Xoxo

Other shelters were nice but every time I went into someplace and said what i wanted, no one quite had the cat I was looking for. I then came across Cozy Cat Cottage. When my wife lost her companion of more than 16 years dating back to her college days at Otterbein, it took a while for her to get over the pain and think about a new four legged family member. One eve, she went to Cozy Cat Cottage and it blew her mind to see the number of animals they tended to with so much love and care. While that many cats affects my allergies, I started meeting her there after work or going with her to help choose. She had always wanted a seal point Siamese, so when I came upon one in that environment, I was very much surprised - pure bred cats like this one had to be very expensive! She was very talkative and loving with me - thus, I called the wife over - and it was pretty much a done deal since it had my stamp of approval. MaiLyn spent many years with us and our four legged menagerie. Cozy Cat Cottage made it possible. It is truly an operation built upon love and concern - and it is surely a very impressive undertaking with a very positive "business" model. The volunteers are upbeat no matter the task, the taskmasters very much involved in all aspects. It is a five star operation very much worthy of any donations or grants that find their way to fund them. Top notch!

I saw Salem at a pet store in Lewis Center in March and I fell for him. The following week I contacted the Cozy Cat Cottage and asked about him. They kept him on hold for me. I went that weekend and picked him up. I recently got married and Salem has become part of our family. Thanks to the Cozy Cat Cottage and their staff for being so helpful and making the transition easy for him. I would highly recommend Cozy cat Cottage to anyone who wants to adopt a cat. From the moment I walked through the door, I knew Cozy Cat Cottage was an unusually fine cat shelter. Most adults are not caged and are healthy. Kittens are not adopted until they have recovered fully from their spay/neuter surgeries and fully vaccinated and kept in large enclosures to protect their developing immune systems. Adoption counselors know each cat and provide full disclosure of all information. And they are there to provide support after the adoption. I have worked with a number of cat rescues. I visited Cozy Cat Cottage as a first stop in getting ready to adopt another cat after losing one this summer and have since become a frequent donor and major champion. Much impressed me: the friendliness and knowledge of the staff and volunteers, the cleanliness and health of the available cats and kittens, the palpable love the staff and volunteers have for each cat and kitten and the very thorough adoption process. Many of the adult cats have free access to a large space with well-planned vertical space and a large, open screened window with nesting and resting spaces alongside it. Kittens were in spacious enclosures, surrounded by toys and plush beds. Homeless cats and kittens are never a happy thing. But Cozy Cat Cottage, despite all odds, is a happy place with happy and healthy cats and kittens.

Cozy Cat Cottage is a truly special place for cats waiting to find their forever homes. We adopted our cat from CCC last January and she has been a perfect fit for our family. All of our interactions with the staff during our adoption process were wonderful, they were able to answer all our questions and you could tell they truly loved the animals they cared for. We have since become donors and supports of Cozy Cat Cottage, as we have seen first hand the great work and compassionate work they do there.

One day, my hubby and I walked into a local pet store, to purchase a harness for our cat that likes to escape outside. We hoped it would sate her curiosity.

While it did not work according to plan, the CCC kittie that was placed there that day, Addie, was soon rubbing against our legs and meowing so much at us that we knew it was fate... and on that day, we became CCC supporters.

Tirelessly working with the community's feline and human sides alike, CCC has shown time and time again they will do anything to protect and love the precious furbabies that have no other place. Each time we've been there, the volunteers cheerful greet us while going about their work, and the shelter staff focuses on making sure we have what we need for whatever we are there for.

Love CCC! They are definitely one of the strongest saviors for cats around!

Though I had to stop volunteering due to health issues, I dearly loved volunteering there. It was amazing to me how much love everyone had for the kitties, and among the long time resident kitties, all the volunteers knew each of their names. I thought that was a shining example of how much they care for each cat individually, while also pursuing the mission of helping as many cats as possible. I will definitely be going there whenever I am able to add another kitty member to my family.

I donate to CCC due to the simple fact that everyone I've seen on its Facebook page are always upbeat and helpful with questions I've had and I've been very welcomed. A volunteer busy with grad school took time to help me walk my neighborhood with the aroma of a roasted chicken to try to find an injured cat I encountered a few times. She has also offered to help me trap a male feral cat I've been feeding for 7+ years so he can get neutered. Again, not judged for not having him trapped and fixed way before this, only help and support. Another volunteer has offered to help transport him, if caught, to the low cost spay/neuter clinic and keep him overnight in her garage before release back into my neighborhood. I have done stupid things with my kitty but I'm not afraid to admit them to this group because they don't judge anyone; they only support, help and promote better ways and offer great knowledge of resources they have experience with. If I ever rescue another kitty, it will be from CCC because you don't just adopt a kitty or kitties, you adopt the WHOLE organization! :)

I have been a volunteer at CCC for almost a decade. I have volunteered elsewhere prior. I have adopted a cat from CCC as well. I could go on for pages, but will be brief. I would not volunteer once or twice a week in a facility I did not believe in. I am honored to support CCC financially as well as with my time. I also work special events. CCC is a small shelter but a world class organization. Someone said recently that a cat or kitten ending up at CCC is like getting into Harvard. I find that an appropriate analogy. The management and Directors and volunteers take care of (our) cats. Thanks for reading. Dave.

After moving to Ohio, my husband and I wanted to volunteer somewhere and we looked at many area rescue facilities. Cozy Cat was by far the cleanest, with the nicest people who actually spoke to us , and had the healthiest cats on their main adoption floor. There is a great energy that you feel when you walk into the door. All of the volunteers, the executive director, and board members all adhere to the no kill policy that is in Cozy Cat's mission statement. My husband and I have adopted our kitties from Cozy Cat and love them all beyond measure. I adopted a kitten from Cozy Cat two years ago, and the experience was fantastic! The entire facility was very clean, all of the cats/kittens were well taken care of, and the staff were very friendly. Cozy Cat saved my kitten, along with his 7 brothers and sisters and mother from being put down at another shelter. When they were saved, they were put into foster care with one of the volunteers and they did an excellent job socializing him. When I adopted him he was neutered and had all of his vaccines and was ready to go. He is now over 2 years old and is the sweetest cat I have ever known, I count my blessings every day that Cozy Cat saved him!

We've adopted twice from Cozy Cat. The first time was 10 years ago and the second was about 6 months ago. I like them in that you can go in and interact with the cats freely. This time, our new cat picked us. We petted and played with several but in the end, Murray made it clear he had picked out our son as his person. From a stray kitten, to a half grown cat that was completely well adjusted enough to take up with a small child, that's how well CCC does with their cats. Obviously, our son and daughter have been raised with cats and know how to get along with them but to find a cat that young who so instantly bonded with them is impressive. If they wake up at night scared, he will go jump in the bed with them. The first cat we got from them is still with us as well.

I just can't say enough good things about Cozy Cat Cottage, a no-kill cat shelter in Powell Ohio. I tell everyone who is considering adopting a cat, or is looking for a place to volunteer. People who visit for the first time often comment on how clean the place looks and smells, and the volunteers work every day to keep it so, because a clean environment is a healthy environment for the cats. I like to point out that one of the perks of being a cleaning volunteer is that after the work is done, we get to play with the cats. Its fun for us, and good for the cats, socializing them to lots of people, and increasing their chances of getting adopted quickly. I'm also an adopter, and the first cat I brought home acclimated amazingly fast to my home and my other cats, because she got a lot of attention at the shelter. Cats who are shy get lots of TLC to help them transition to the shelter environment.

Cozy Cat Cottage is one of the few places in Central Ohio who will take orphan kittens who must be bottle fed, and pregnant cats or cats with babies, who need a safe place to raise their kittens. Cozy Cat has a wonderful group of foster homes for these little ones, until they are big enough to be spayed/neutered and put up for adoption. Cindi Clum-Oppenheimener, the Executive Director, takes the responsibility to bottle feed most of the babies who do not have moms, and from spring until fall, she has assorted babies she tirelessly hand feeds, 24/7 (Cindi you are amazing!) In most shelters, the directors do not do much of the care for the animals. Not true for Cozy Cat. Here, everyone in charge is hands on, and does everything from paper work, to adoptions, to litter box scooping.

All of the feline residents are lovingly looked after and cared for. Cats who are sick are treated promptly by our amazing vet techs (Amy, you are awesome!). Even if the cat has a serious illness, it is cared for, treated, can run up large vet bills, as the shelter tries to cure it. Most places just kill cats who are sick, they don't want to pay to treat them. Not Cozy Cat. The only time cats are put down for an illness is if it is not treatable to allow the cat to have a quality of life. Cozy Cat does not let cats suffer, and every decision to end a life is carefully considered, and with many tears by everyone who knew the cat.

Cozy Cat has been expanding its presence in Central Ohio. In addition to spay/neutering shelter cats, it now has a program to provide low or no cost spays and neuters for the public. Cindi is trying to increase the number of days the shelter can offer public spay/neuters. Another recent program she has started is a low-cost vet day, for people to be able to bring their cats in for basic checkups, vaccinations and microchipping. Being low income should not deter people from providing medical care for their cats.

Cozy Cat has other public outreach services too. It works with cat colony caretakers and TNR (trap-neuter-return) workers to get strays and feral cats spayed and neutered so they do not produce more unwanted cats. When it has room to take in some of the friendlies or kittens who find themselves out on the street, it does. All of the cats at Cozy Cat Cottage come from hoarding, abuse or off the streets situations. Cozy Cat is trying to start a cat food bank, to help colony caretakers feed the cats they are looking after. The shelter works with a group that helps homeless people, who often have pets too. If the cats are sick, Cozy Cat helps treat them, and when it has room, it will take in kittens from homeless camps, and spay and neuter the parent cats.

Cozy Cat works to help people keep their cats, rather than giving them up to a shelter, where if it is not no-kill, the cat will surely die. They provide advice, and sometimes even medicine for free, until the person can see a vet for their sick cat. If there are behavioral issues, the shelter tries to help people deal with these issues, so the cat can stay in the home. As wonderful as Cozy Cat Cottage is, it is not better than a forever home, especially if the cat is old and then shelter life is often overwhelming for the cat.

As you see, I could write a book, to sing all the praises for Cozy Cat Cottage. I will end with two final comments though. The first is that Cozy Cat Cottage is always in need of donations to keep all this work going. It takes supplies donations (find the list on the website at cozycatcottage.org), and it is always in need of monetary donations for medical expenses and other bills. When you donate money to Cozy Cat Cottage, you can be sure that 100% of that goes to care for the feline residents. There are no fancy offices, huge salaries, or such that are paid for with your donation dollars. Very few groups can say that. Cozy Cat Cottage is very transparent about how it spends its money; again something few groups can claim, and certainly is not true of national organizations who claim to care for animals. You get the greatest bang for your bucks to help cats, when you donate to Cozy Cat Cottage.

And my final comment (congratulations for reading this far), is that Cozy Cat Cottage has a very active Face Book page https://www.facebook.com/groups/cozycat/ Stop by, join, and see what goes on at the shelter.

I used to volunteer at another place, until I found out they weren't really no-kill as they claimed, the staff was very cliquey and avoided associating with mere volunteers, and you never knew where the money went. What a difference at Cozy Cat Cottage! The only reason cats are euthanized is if they are too sick or injured to get well and are suffering. Everyone from the Executive Director on down interacts with the volunteers, and pitches in to do the grunt work - scooping poop to cleaning cages in the sick rooms. The all volunteer board members each work at least one day at the shelter, where they help with adoptions and take charge of cleaning sick rooms. Everyone is friendly and supportive, and everyone loves the feline population! It isn't "do the work and get out" - the volunteers mostly stay after the work is done to play with and pet the cats. Socializing the cats is seen as an important part of the process towards getting them forever homes. We love them all, but each of us has favorites, and we are so happy when that cat gets a forever home!

I am amazed at the transparency of CCC as well. At the end of last year, the Executive Director posted to the CCC facebook page how many cats were at the shelter in 2012, how many came in and were adopted out, how many died or had to be kindly euthanized (answer 589 adopted, only about 22 died). If you want to know about a particular cat, you can ask - was it adopted, is it sick, is it at a store waiting to be adopted? As a volunteer, I work many of the fundraising events. At the end of the event, the volunteers working are told how the event did in terms of money raised. That money goes to pay whatever bills were incurred to put on the event, but everything else goes to the cats. There are no fat salaries that suck up event or donation money. Overhead is a very small percentage of where the money goes that comes into CCC. If you donate to Cozy Cat, it goes to the feline residents, keeping a roof over their heads, keeping them warm in winter and cool in summer, paying the medical bills for them.

Cozy Cat Cottage also strives to educate the public on how to care for their pet cats and the importance of getting pets spayed and neutered. I've seen the Executive Director teach people how to bottle feed baby kittens they have found, give them supplies to get them started. CCC actively supports feral cat TNR and cat colony care and responsibility, for those cats who would not make good pets, but nonetheless deserve to live.

I could talk about how clean the place is, and how people tell us how wonderful the cats they have adopted are, but everyone else mentions these things - they are the hallmarks of Cozy Cat Cottage! This shelter is a special place, totally devoted to helping homeless cats who through no fault of their own have ended up on the streets, but make wonderful pets for someone, given the chance.

I'm very proud to be a Cozy Cat volunteer, I think it is the best shelter in central Ohio!

Cozy Cat Cottage (CCC) has quite a reputation among pet lovers in and around this area, for healthy, happy, well-cared-for cats. They take in not only stray cats, but those whose owners can no longer take care of them. They rescue cats from abandoned buildings. They recently participated in building a shelter for a feral cat colony. There is staff on-hand daily to see to their health and welfare. They have a veterinarian who comes to CCC for neuter/spaying, and offer a low-cost neuter/spay program. Cozy Cat participates in local pet adoptathons at the area pet stores. (I've taken cats for adoption to Petco and Petsmart on several occasions. CCC has saved countless cats from euthanization at area humane societies. Many volunteers, myself included, have fostered kitten families until they were old enough to be available for adoption. Most touching are the kitties who are mere hours or days old and they are hand-fed and nursed when there is no mama cat to nurse them.

As the board member who started Cozy Cat back in 1998 I saw the need for a shelter that could and would provide medical care to their residents just as we would our own pets. One that would have a clean and stable environment and would always put their interest before money and our own interest. I feel with the help of our dedicated and wonderful volunteers day in and day out we have achieved that goal. We are one of the few in our area as well as surrounding areas that deal with orphan kittens. A 24-7 job. While we have limited intake because we choose to make sure all of ours are well taken care of and know that once we send these little ones onto their hopefully forever home we can take in and they go out. We are truly blessed to have such an awesome following for such a small group. I can truly say we are a five star shelter.

Cozy Cat Cottage in Powell Ohio is an outstanding nonprofit organization. It is well organized, always clean and takes it's goal of finding a forever home for every cat seriously. To meet this goal they use a wide variety of approaches. Newborn kittens and their mothers are taken care of by volunteers both in the facility and in foster homes. There are monthly low cost spay/neuter clinics. A separate area is kept for sick cats of all ages and staffed with specially trained volunteers. All volunteers go through a training program and there are adoption counselors who help people find an appropriate cat for their home. Outreach programs and fund-raisers occur regularly and are well publicized. They also help people who can no longer care for their cat find homes for them, and rescue cats from shelters who would euthanize them. Volunteers clean the facility both morning and evening. The cats themselves have areas to roam in while still having spaces for those who need extra attention. They helped me with a stray I found and with their support I was able to bring him into my home where he currently lives the good life! They even have volunteers who can take feral cats away from dangerous situations and work tirelessly to reduce and eliminate the abandoned cats in the community while meeting high standards of care and staying a no-kill facility. It's an organization worthy of praise.

Cozy Cat takes the utmost care of all of their cats and, as a result, sometimes has to turn away taking in more cats. Their position is to care for all of the cats that they have and adopt them out to loving forever homes rather than overpopulate the shelter and propagate sickness and disease throughout the shelter. Their compassionate care of all their cats makes them the premier cat rescue organization in Columbus. Come in, get to know the cats and staff, and you too will be a believer. Their dedication to the welfare and respect of every cat and kitten is ceaseless. Unlike many of the shelters, their no-kill policy does not only extend to those who "make it" to the adoption floor but to every cat that they take into their care. Their commitment to their cats is life-long. Their resources and knowledge has saved money, time, and frustration and their facebook page is active with engaged, passionate volunteers and very happy families who have adopted Cozy Cats. I first went to Cozy Cat Cottage in the mid-90's when it was located in a storefront in Powell, OH. While the space was small I was overwhelmed by the homey atmosphere that the cats and kittens lived in! It was warm and cozy for sure - and it was clean and the cats were healthy and active - with lots of toys to play with, people to cuddle with and spaces to sleep in! I moved to Powell in early 2000 to help out with family - I continued to visit Cozy Cats and help whenever I could! In 1997 I had a series of unfortunate events - couldn't work, had ongoing orthopedic problems with my left foot - I got in a slump and was just going the physical therapy and drs appointments...... Cozy Cats came to mind and I spent about 8 months going 3x per week for the morning shift to clean and play with cats! I cleaned cages, scooped litter boxes, changed water bowls, vacuumed, did laundry, washed floors and anything else that needed to be done! The director of the facility, Cindy had very explicit instructions on how tasks were to be done - so volunteers would be consistent and well managed! I could see no other way an operation of this kind could be run! The cats knew the routine as well! There was no wasted volunteer time, spent "what should I do" - we knew what tasks were done and how to do them!! That was the great therapy and just what I needed! and the best part of all? - I got to play with the cats! I learned their names, their personalities, their fav toys, fav sleeping spots! I became attached to them! Their living environment was roomy and full of cat trees and kitty houses and beds and rafters and places for shy kitties to watch the activity from afar! There were places for those who wanted to be right in all the actions! For such a clouder they got along so well - the atmosphere was loving and gentle! The adoption process was strict - as it should be - prospective forever homes were carefully screened and the new parents completed questionnaires - all to guarantee the cats went to a loving safe environment. The Director also reserved the right to decline potential adoptive parents - all with great consideration for what is best for the cat. I am tickled every year when I hear that due to Halloween the black cats are not up for adoption for the weeks before and after the holiday - not everybody loves cats in this world! My dog, Buddy and I once manned the Cozy Cat booth at the annual Pup-a-Palooza festival! How fun to meet people who loved both dogs and cats! The days that I can volunteer on site are over - but Cozy Cats has so many opportunities to volunteer at community events, fund raisers - always looking to raise money to expand and add to the services provided to the awesome cats in residence at Cozy Cat Cottage. The awareness this shelter brings to the Columbus area is phenomenal!

Cozy Cat Cottage never wavers in its dedication to helping homeless kitties, no matter if they are sick, injured, blind, newborns or anything else. Their facility is always so clean and each cage is put together in a way that makes the very best use of space while giving all the comfort and respect possible to the kitties waiting and hoping for a home. Their volunteers truly care and are very loyal. This is a well-run organization which continually tries to come up with new efforts for fundraising.
Whatever they plan or organize is always creative and appealing to the public. They work tirelessly to keep operating so that they can continue their mission. I encourage everyone to visit and support Cozy Cat Cottage. They are wonderful and are so deserving of recognition and assistance.

I volunteered here with my mom and my friend a while back. Cozy Cat Cottage was so well managed and I volunteered there because I love cats as well as knowing what I was doing was time and effort well spent. My mom and I saw how well the cats were taken care of, kinda like royalty with all their toys and space. Later on we adopted a kitten from Cozy Cat Cottage, and by far was our healthiest cat coming into the house(past were strays, one still recovering from a broken leg which was also underweight, and one that came home with herpes and ear mites which we had to treat).

Cozy Cat Cottage is an amazing home for wonderful cats and kittens. All the cats are clean, healthy and affectionate thanks to the staff and volunteers at this shelter. I have only volunteered for a few hours a week for several weeks, and I find great joy when I am surrounded by these adorable animals. While most of the cats are allowed to roam free, several are kept in large enclosures until they become acclamated to the environment. The facility is immaculate and the staff and volunteers truly love what they do. Please come visit us, meet the cats and maybe even take one home with you. You too will find great joy with one of these loving companions.

Cozy Cat Cottage is run by amazing directors and volunteers, and you can really feel how passionate they are about the work they do. I volunteered with Cozy Cat for three and a half years, and I enjoyed working with all of the people as much as I enjoyed working with the cats. Everyone gave the cats the best care possible and did our best to place the right cat with the right family. Unfortunately we had to move out of the area, otherwise I would still love to be volunteering with this awesome organization. Plus, two of our furbabies came from Cozy Cat!

This is the cleanest cat shelter I have ever been in. At Cozy Cat Cottage the needs of the cats always come first. In addition to helping stray and abandoned cats, this group helps citizens with trap, neuter, release projects, donations of food and supplies to care for feral colonies and low-cost spay/neuter assistance. The volunteers work their tails off to keep the shelter in top-notch condition and ensure that the feline residents want for nothing. If you like spending time with cats, this is a great place to do it.
