Programs: College bound programs are an educational component of concerned parents alliance, inc. Monthly workshops are held to help empower students and parents to navigate the educational system and take control of their educational journey. During the workshops, families are exposed to college readiness topics, public speaking, leadership skills and community service. During 2017, 700 students and parents participated in college bound programs. During 2017, sdg&e grants were obtained for students scholarships and college tours.
the college scholarship program applies for grants to help offset college costs for students actively participating in the college bound programs as well as providing assistance to college bound alumni during their college years to help ensure that they graduate and find careers in their areas of interest.
the college tours program offers customized college tours throughout the country. During 2017, 39 students and their parents participated.
grants were received from the direct public. Sales of shirts generated some miscellaneous revenue.
