Nonprofit Overview
Causes: Crime & Law, Crime Prevention, Dispute Resolution & Mediation, Education
Mission: Promote peace, eliminate violence and work through conflict by systematically using Nonviolent Communication (NVC) in Central Ohio and beyond. We envision a community where we live in peace and compassion for all.
Results: * Hosted two public conferences with the founder of NVC, Dr. Marshall Rosenberg, in 2006-07, attended by 350 people. * Shared NVC with dozens of organizations to create partership-based workplaces where everyone thrives. * Organized ore than fifteen public trainings on various topics, such as mediation, parenting, education and spirituality. * Established 20+ NVC practice groups. * Developed a comprehensive plan for customizing NVC for organizations to create a collaborative culture. .
Target demographics: We have programs for everyone and anyone, with special emphasis on educators, parents, couples and people in the helping professions including social workers, counselors, psychologists, nurses and hospice care. .
Geographic areas served: Central Ohio and beyond .
Programs: PUBLIC TRAININGS: Conference, workshops and classes that reach diverse populations. ORGANIZATIONAL TRAINING AND CONSULTING: Infusing Nonviolent Communication (NVC) principles into businesses, government and social service agencies, nonprofit organizations and religious institutions to create thriving workplaces. LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT: Training people to become facilitators, thus increasing our capacity to share NVC. .
