Christian Military Fellowship reaches out to all ranks and rates in all branches of the U.S. military, their families and those who work on military installations to help those who are Christians live their faith boldly every day. It is a peer ministry which disciples and equips those who are members to reach out to their fellow sailors and soldiers. There are direct services as well as support, particularly during this unique war on terror. The focus currently is how to better equip our military prior to deployment, how to minister to them and their families during deployment and how to more effectively help them reunite with family and society after deployment. The focus is upon military Christians as well as those who are not Christian.
Awesome organization reaching the difficult to reach. Our Military.
CMF has people close to our troops in ministry. It's a major sacrifice to leave family to go and be where the military members are. It's not just a tour of duty for these CMF Staffers, say like 4 years. It's for life in most cases.
They are there when you cannot be. Please support.
And consider signing up as members and/or Staff?
It has been the most fulfilling and purposeful thing I have ever done. Serving the Lord through serving the military.
I joined and have been supporting Christian Military Fellowship for about 35 years or so. I joined when I was on active duty, a member of a Special Forces “A” Detachment, and convinced that being open about my faith in Christ wasn’t an option but a duty and privilege. And more than just being open about my faith, the question that loomed large was “How do I function simultaneously as a member of such a close knit team of elite soldiers and as a member of God’s Army at the same time?” How does that work? Is it even possible?
To find answers I plugged into a small Wednesday lunchtime Bible study at a Chapel on Ft. Devens, Massachusetts, then home of the 10th Special Forces Group. A man by the name of Ernie Miller appeared at one such fellowship time one Wednesday and talked about an organization that could keep me connected to other Christians wherever I went, whose members around the globe would provide prayer cover, and one that would provide me with the tools I needed for own Christian growth, as well as for sharing the gospel and multiplying the Kingdom (making disciples).
The CMF Daily Prayer Reminder, along with the monthly Christian Report have both been instrumental in this old soldier's faith walk, along with the CMF Discipleship Training material, which I still believe is among the 'best of the best' in terms of equipping members of the Armed Forces to be effective 'boots on the ground' ministers of the gospel around the world!
I first learned about CMF in 2008 when my then-deployed fiancé was greatly struggling with various issues. The issues were so stressful that I began having panic attacks. Steve, the CMF leader at Camp Pendleton gave me great insights into what my fiancé was likely experiencing and he prayed for both him and I and for God’s will over our relationship. We kept in touch as needed and his counsel was invaluable. The panic attacks stopped. The relationship did not work out (God’s will!) but the counsel I received helped me to bounce back from the stress and grief. The kindness and compassion shown was such a strengthening and fortifying experience. Thank you, CMF!
