Causes: Child Abuse Prevention, Crime & Law, Domestic Violence
Mission: Working together to keep every child safe from harm through child abuse prevention and child safety programs
Programs: Programs for students: prevention through education programs addressing child abuse, bullying, neglect, sexual harassment, date rape and online exploitation to school age children. Workshops are presented in classrooms facilitated by professionally-trained volunteers and reach more than 35,000 children annually. Professional programs: providing information and updates for school and other professionals on child abuse and neglect, including nys mandated reporter training, conferences, and publishing a bi-annual educators newsletter, and a monthly working together e-newsletter. Parent workshops: on child abuse prevention, bullying, relational aggression and internet safety. Public awareness: publication of capsnews bi-annual newsletter sponsoring community education and outreach efforts,roundtables, legislative breakfasts, and roundtables on abuse and child safety issues.
