juvenile welfare board of pinellas county:funded by the juvenile welfare board (jwb), the family services initiative (fsi) is a collaborative initiative to develop and implement a countywide system of information, support, and the delivery of wrap around services for pinellas county children and families across economic, social, cultural, and geographic boundaries. The family services initiative (fsi) is a collaboration among four partner agencies: juvenile welfare board (jwb); 211 tampa bay cares; central florida behavioral health network (cfbhn); and personal enrichment for mental health (pemhs). This initiative extends beyond these major partners to include many service providers in the community and the pinellas county school system. The initiative is about prevention and providing families the right service, at the right time, for the right need. The initiative provides supports and wrap-around services to meet families' basic needs and help empower them to become self-sufficient. The services provided are to assist families in regaining stability, connect to local services as appropriate, and/or assist with financial requests. The intent is to assist at-risk families to achieve stability by providing them with a comprehensive array of services and supports, as well as coordination, system navigation, and advocacy. The goal is to encourage family resiliency, prevent entering child welfare system, enhance individual, family, and community resources, and firmly link families with natural community supports.
