Schools and parents are already so busy, the programs from the Center for Cyber Safety and Education helps volunteers to deliver impactful presentations targeted for different ages and parents. As a volunteer myself, I've received great feedback from parents and teachers, as well as having a great feeling of preparing families for safe Internet use.
I always look forward to volunteering and attending events the Center hosts! I know that the work they do every day is making an impact on students in and out of the classroom, especially during Covid times. Incorporating Garfield has to be one of the best parts! It keeps the kids active and engaged and looking forward to the next lesson. Keep up the great work!
Teaching children, parents and seniors how to be safe and secure online is critical in today’s environment, the Center has developed materials to help all of these groups be safe and increase their knowledge in this area. The Center's Garfield Cyber Safety Adventures program is especially exciting for children and has helped tens of thousands all across the world.
It's been amazing to see the Center grow and the impact they are creating in communities all around the world. Cyber safety is huge issues especially now with COVID and children learning online. Great work!
The Center for Cyber Safety does such a great job covering the topics of online safety and etiquette in ways that are relatable to children of all ages. Using Garfield to deliver these messages in ways that are engaging and informative is brilliant - and is making our children safer! I appreciate all that they're doing for the upcoming generations who are based so deeply in a technological world.
What a great organization! We have participated in a few of their fund raisers and they provide great training materials for schools on cyber safety. Their pick of Garfield was awesome! Keep up the good work!
The Center for Cyber Safety and Education has provided great educational tools for our 1st grade son on how to stay protected on electronic devices. It is such a critical tool even more during the days of COVID and the leaders of this organization really are passionate on their cause. They have great tools for the classroom and Garfield seems to have a resurgence as a character. While you can find great tools for older kids and adults it is nice to see this association take on the lead for younger kids.
Educators are faced with the challenge of teaching current and future generations of students about cybersecurity and privacy, fields which are challenging to learn and constantly evolving. The ever-evolving threat is a big concern and it is my passion to ensure we, as a community of security professionals, continue to help others stay safe and secure online. I had the pleasure of volunteering in the Center's Cyber Safety Days in both Orlando (6500+ students) and Tampa (10,000+ students). The students in the class were extremely engaged in the Garfield Cyber Safety lessons and were eager to answer questions and learn about cyber safety. These lessons can be led by educators without any previous training and the videos and comic books really grab the attention of the students. The Center is offering an invaluable service to our students and all the members of this generation and generations to come.
I have volunteered for the Center For Cyber Safety and Education since its creation. Getting behind its goal of making the cyber world a safer place for everyone was extremely rewarding and allowed me to inspire hundreds of children to make safer choices online. I highly encourage anyone looking to make a positive impact on the next generation do what they can to support this amazing nonprofit.
The Center for Cyber Safety and Education fills a critical educational need for elementary-aged children. These needs are being met by neither public nor private schools. Helping children understand the threats they face in cyberspace is as important today as teaching them to cross the street safely - even more so as they are raised with technology. The Center uses effective and entertaining materials to fill this gap and empowers both teachers and parent to guide them in this vital learning process.
In addition to my ongoing donations in honor of my grandchildren, I donated two paintings by renowned artist Erik Wahl from my personal collection so the Center can reach even more children with their important message. John McCumber
