Mission: The Cathance River Education Alliance (CREA), created in 2000, promotes environmental education and the understanding, enjoyment & protection of the Cathance River watershed by:* promoting the use of the Cathance River Preserve (CRP) and CREA Ecology Center as teaching tools for area educators; * assisting educators and students in developing curricula, workshops, classroom activities, & organized field-trips that utilize the CRP as a hands-on educational resource;* providing educators with training, up-to-date equipment and materials to facilitate their work with students at the Preserve & in the Merrymeeting Bay Watershed; * developing programs that educate the public about ecology, environmental preservation, & sustainable living; * overseeing appropriate improvement and management of the CRP and its watershed; & * establishing working relationships with organizations that generate awareness and support for the preservation of the watershed and CREA''s broader educational mission.
