Mission: The cancer community center supports and promotes the well-being of people living with cancer, their families and friends
Programs: During fiscal year 2015, the cancer community center provided 1,261 survivorship program units in the form of creative expression workshops, social events, support groups and wellness activities. These were all offered at the center's south portland location. During the reporting period, the maine buddy program provided 80 new people with a volunteer buddy. Participants in the the program came from 44 towns and 10 counties. They represented 27 types of cancer and 5 different kinds of family support. They ranged from 35 to 78 years old. The program has trained 25 new volunteer buddies.
