Mission: Bridges mission is to unite and inspire diverse young people to become confident and courageous leaders committed to community transformation.
Programs: Bridge builders: in fy17, bridge builders engaged 5,367 youth, grades 6-12, from 129 schools and 60 zip codes throughout the greater memphis area. Internal evaluation shows that students show statistically positive growth in three main outcome areas including cultural competency/diversity appreciation, leadership skill development, and civic engagement, as a result of their program experience. There are three levels of bridge builders programming designed to meet the needs and schedules of diverse youth from across the community: bridge builders connect, bridge builders collaborate, and bridge builders change.
team bridges: team bridges provided experiences for 4,079 participants consisting of elementary, middle and high school students, school faculties ranging from elementary to colleges/universities, youth and adults from well-known non-profit organizations, faith based community groups and significant corporate clients in the mid-south region via experiential learning practices and adventure education to create strong team building programs, leadership development workshops, as well as providing individuals with the opportunity to grow personally, professional, and educationally.
