Causes: Boy Scouts of America, Children & Youth
Mission: The mission of boy scouts of america council 615 is to provide scouting programs to the youth on monongalia, preston, marion, and taylor counties.
Programs: The organization utilizes the bsa program to instill good citizenship skills, outdoor survival and conservation skills, as well as physical and emotional fitness to youths between 5 and 21 years of age, of which we served a total of 1,296 youth. We offer boy and cub scout resident camp, parent & pal, day camp, and webelos weekend. The total number of youth served for these activities in 2017 is 574, not including adults and other family members. Significant capital improvements were made to camp mountaineer to support these programs, including a the installation and renovation of shelters at each campsite location, the welcome center from 2016 was completed, as well as the generator.
