Mission: Blue Alert Foundation exists to: Operate, maintain & improve the National Blue Alert System that enables communication between law enforcement, transportation & news/social/wireless medias. Work to bring support to the families of fallen officers. The unexpected loss of life & loss of everyday function puts a strain on these families. Work Nationally to bring Body Armor, Body Cameras, Squad Car Cameras & more to the law enforcement agencies that are not able to obtain this critical safety equipment. The National Blue Alert System began in 2008 when Retired Military Veteran, Tom Berry, teamed up with various agencies to develop an early warning system to help find violent criminals that injure or kill law enforcement officers. The name Blue Alert is named using the Thin Blue Line theme associated with law enforcement. Other states and communities are soon to set up their own Blue Alert Systems as the concept is adopted across the nation, due to Federal laws.
