Is to serve the community with respect to providing healthcare services and healthcare education. Therefore, in keeping with its commitment to serve all members of its community, baptist memorial hospital-booneville, inc. Provides the following:--free care and/or subsidized care,--care provided to persons covered by governmental programs at below cost, and--health activities and programs to support the communityduring the year ending september 30, 2017, baptist memorial hospital-booneville provided services for 1,010 inpatients and more than 22,753 outpatients. Baptist memorial hospital-booneville provides care to persons covered by governmental programs from which the hospital receives at less than market value reimbursement. Recognizing its mission to the community, services are provided to medicare, medicaid and uninsured patients. To the extent reimbursement is below cost, baptist memorial hospital-booneville recognizes these amounts as charity care in meeting its mission to the entire community. During the year ending september 30, 2017 the unreimbursed value of providing care to these patients was $46,980,050. Charity care is also provided through many reduced priced services and free programs offered throughout the year based upon activities and services that baptist memorial hospital-booneville believes will serve a bona fide community health need. The largest program services provided the following for the period ending september 30, 2017. --the geriatric psych department had 3,821 patient days at a cost of $2,007,283. --the radiology department performed 18,256 tests at a cost of $901,804. --the pharmacy department dispensed medication at a cost of $1,101,783. --the pathology department performed 45,189 procedures at a cost of $852,419. --the cardiology/r. T. Services department had 17,257 tests at a cost of $609,732.
