I just started volunteering at Baja Dog Rescue. I take a few teenagers with me to help out Josh at Balboa Ave for his weekly adoption events. Josh is a vet and very knowledgable. He go through every application very carefully and make sure they are responsible people before he let them adopt. Last week, a couple of people came back to visit Josh with their adopted dogs from Baja Dog Rescue. They also brought many dog foods and supplies to Josh. Both couldn't stop "bragging" how great their dogs are and how grateful they are for What Baja Dog Rescue does.
The Baja Rescue team is amazing! Not only did they introduce me to the dog love of my life, they continue to save dogs of all ages and breeds from death/disease/life on the streets on a daily basis. I've seen first-hand the inspiring work they do to make sure each dog they encounter leads a fulfilling and healthy life. Their on-site hospital in Tijuana serves the surrounding community at low cost, and makes a difference in the lives of so many.
I adopted my sweet little lab/dachshund/spaniel mix from Baja Dog Rescue - and not only is she absolutely perfect (I'm not biased...), the work that this organization does is simply amazing. The staff that I engaged with when going through the adoption process clearly adored what they were doing. It showed in the love that they give to the animals, the care and patience they exhibit when explaining all the details of your new rescue, and the dedication to making sure that each animal goes to the best home possible. Thank you, Baja Dog Rescue for bringing me my wonderful little Calla - she is so loved, and always will be.
I cannot say enough wonderful things about Baja Dog Rescue. They take in dogs that other shelters would not. The vet there is amazing and truly goes above and beyond for these poor dogs.
I personally adopted a dog from them and he was such a love! Years later, when another one of my dogs got really sick, Baja Dog Rescue helped us help her.
They are compassionate and really provide incredible care to the dogs.
Cannot say enough good things about this rescue, they go to extreme measures most wouldn’t to save a dogs life and I don’t think they have ever turned a dog away. Doing so much good with so little resources………they literally are angels
I have adopted 4 dogs from Baja Dog Rescue over the years. Each one of them were at least 3-8 years old. They were ones that other rescue may not have cared about especially in Baja. Penny was hit by a car and left on the road. They saw her and had her for over a year. She was deaf which scares many people. Kevin was shot in the head and left by their place. They had him for 2 yrs. He was a sweet big black fluffy guy. Greg was there for 6 months, he was about 8 yrs old. Another rescue thought he was dying and brought him to them. They saved him. Perla was there for over 3 yrs. They saved her from the "hotel of terror". She has been a part of my family for over 7 yrs now. If it wasn't for them none of these dogs would have lived. They help so many dogs in Tijuana that otherwise would die. I have no doubts that I will continue to support and adopt from them. I always say the dogs from them bark in English and Spanish. My dogs especially because the live in San Diego. I have nothing bad to say about what they do. They are a true treasure in the dog rescue world.
I’m lucky to work at a dog friendly company. Many of our company pups are from Baja Dog Rescue. Personally and as a company I have donated to this rescue. I cannot being to thank them for our company pups who we all adore. Baja dog rescue is an organization who I am beyond grateful for. They are amazing ❤️
When my Skittles died, I sobbed for days...
I was living in Mexico at the time, so drove out to Baja Dog Rescue. My eyes landed on Nina, a beautiful little miniature schnauzer. We still have her today and she brightens our lives. The individuals at Baja were so patient with me, taking me to see all the different breeds. This organization changed my life from sadness to joy! BDR deserves the highest award for saving many little souls with furry faces!
We adopted our dog Yuna, previously Willow, in late March of this year. Baja wasn't able to host their usual adoption event, so one of their team members graciously drove Yuna up to meet us. Yuna was very shy when we first met her, but the volunteer talked us through how to coax her out and gave us lots of information on how successfully transition her into our home. Besides facilitating adoptions and rescuing dogs, Baja gives so much to their local community by providing low cost veterinary services. They're a great organization and we had a 100% positive experience working with them.
Baja dog rescue provides invaluable services for homeless animals and pet owners in Baja California. They save lives that are overlooked and uncared for and do so with professionalism and care. Covid-19 has made their rescue efforts and outreach especially difficult but we are so fortunate they continue their mission!
Love Baja Dog Rescue! Adopted my pup in August 2020 and the process was great! They are very professional, ommunicated with us very quickly, and took care of our pup in an amazing way.
Dexter (formerly Brody) had a full vet record, all his shots had been given, and medical treatments provided from when he first arrived at their site with his siblings and needed medical care. We love Dexter to no end! We are obsessed with this playful, energetic, intelligent, rambunctious lil guy. He's made everyday better than the last and we thank you Baja Dog Rescue for taking such good care of him until our paths crossed!
We have been so fortunate to have adopted two of our dogs from Baja Dog Rescue. The work that this organization does in Mexico is outstanding. From rescuing abandoned, neglected, abused and stray dogs to providing free of charge medical care to people who cannot afford it on their own. Without Baja Dog Rescue, so many dogs would be left to die. Our first adoption was our beloved Sugar (formerly Taffy) nine years ago. Sugar was found as a stray in Mexico. What is astounding about this rescue is they continued to provide support even after the adoption. Sugar had hip dysplasia in both hips and required surgery. Baja helped us from referrals right through to her surgical recovery. Now that's an organization that truly loves dogs. Our other rescue is Willow (formerly Rossie) who we adopted as a pup four years ago. Like Sugar, Willow has brought us nothing but joy. I cannot recommend this rescue enough. I am so thankful for our two furry family members as well as the work they do for all other dogs. Thank you Baja Dog Rescue!
I adopted Maite (formerly Hope) back in February and it has been the best decision I have ever made. She is such a happy, clever and energetic pup and I am so glad she has been with me during these rough times. She loves playing with her dog friends and although she is still a bit shy with people, she steals everyone’s hearts with her big bat ears, her gorgeous coloring and her gentle (yet at times sassy!) personality.
Thank you so much for giving me my best friend and for helping so many dogs find good homes.
My adult disabled son really wanted a dog and we looked at a bunch of different dog rescue groups. We found the perfect dog at Baja Dog Rescue. He is an amazing dog and was obviously very well cared for when we adopted him. They do great work for dogs in Baja, not only rehabilitating dogs for adoption but giving veterinary care for the local residents.
Baja Dog Rescuer staff are my heros’.
I adopted my Aussie/border collie from them 7 years ago. Milo is the best dog and was rescued from a life of the streets of TJ. Not only does Baja Dog Rescue find Home for homeless pups they also offer free or
Low cost care to folks that cannot afford to properly care for their pets. Weekly they find abandoned dogs and puppies at their door, however, they never turn a dog away-they instead care and heal puppies that would have died alone in the streets.
They are a bunch of loving folks and angels in my eyes.

We adopted Annie from Baja Dog Rescue in December 2016. She was the runt of the litter and very shy. Over the past few years her personality has blossomed and she is the sweetest and most loving pup ever. This year we moved to Boise, Idaho and Annie is loving the river, hiking in the foothills and her new rescue cat brother Pat. Baja Dog Rescue is an amazing organization that does incredible work on behalf of dogs of all ages and situations. We are so blessed they brought Annie into our lives.
They are amazing! We adopted our beautiful Bear from them. He is the sweetest dog ever.
Thanks for all you do helping the voiceless animals!
We have adopted our two dogs from Baja Dog Rescue, our adoption process went well and what I can observe, they really do take care of animals in need. We try to donate when we can to support their efforts
This charity, Baja Dog Rescue, is AMAZING. They take dogs of all ages who otherwise wouldn’t have much of a chance of a good life, rehabilitate them, then place for adoption. They carefully screen the adopters. We adopted our dog Xochitl from them in February 2017 and she’s the sweetest girl and she brings us UNCONDITIONAL JOY every single day!! Baja Rescue also helps families with their dogs in the community of Tijuana for free, and keeps them healthy and when they otherwise would not be able to afford such care. This organization deserves as much funding as they can receive!!
