Mission: The organization is dedicated to improving the lives of children and adults with autism spectrum disorders.
Programs: Educational conferences - we provide educational conferences for those with autism, families, educators, support staff, and residential care providers. Seven conferences and trainings were held in 2017: three safety conferences, two summer employment conferences, a fall educational conference, and a voter training for adults with autism. 470 people were in attendance for the conferences.
grants and scholarships - we provide family scholarships to pay for children/adults to attend programming to assist them; college scholarships for those on the autism spectrum and those going into a field to help those on the autism spectrum; and grants for children, teen, and adult programming for recreational programs or classes along with a summer grant so recreational programs can integrate children/adults on the autism spectrum. 80 people were served by the grants distributed and 44 people received scholarships.
autism awareness - we provide information on autism at various events and also host the autism advocacy & education day at the iowa state capitol, splash for autism family swim events in iowa, two walks and a bike ride, host a bake sale for autism the saturday before easter, and partner with the walnut creek ymca on sensory friendly sundays. 710 people attended these events.
