I recently participated in APIE's Math Classroom Coaching program as a 6th-grade math coach at Dobie Middle School and had a great experience (and plan to re-join again once volunteers are able to safely go back into schools). The students were always excited to see me and I looked forward to tackling difficult math problems with them during our weekly sessions.

As a long-term volunteer I have seen, first-hand, the incredibly positive impact that APIE has had on the academic performance and therefore the self-confidence of the students in Austin ISD classrooms. Unwavering confidence in your knowledge and skill is critical for success throughout school and career.

I will never regret the day I decided to begin giving back to my community with Austin Partners In Education.

Austin Partners In Education offered me the chance to become active in my local community. They made everything easy, and accessible to me. I was fully trained, given a curriculum to follow, I am emailed every week with updates and there is always a coordinator in the classroom with me when I tutor. They are great! The best part is that I get to meet some great local children and help them build their self confidence and skills in reading and math. I don't get paid, as I am a volunteer, but I get paid in smiles and the obvious changes that I see in my group of kids every week. It is the best hour of my entire work week.
