A couple years ago, while shopping, I accidentally walked into The Harmony Project headquarters. If. I can only use shock to describe what I saw. It just didn't compute at first. There was more happiness in one room than is normal to see. In this room, there was a sort of assembly line of laughter. Everyone was making art and helping each other, as this woman, who I have now the utmost respect for leaned over and gently gave creative ideas and instruction.
To the left of this was a young man rocking out on a karaoke microphone as the music played he danced and sang.
Everyone was SO happy it reminded me of the Willy Wonka Chocolate Factory. I will never forget this initial experience and I just had to know who this woman was and what was happening here. As I learned more about her program, it still brings tears to my eyes how dedicated and true of heart Tressie Seegers and her program staff are. Such a haven of Hope for all of these beautiful adults that otherwise wouldn't have such a full of love and joy life.
I strongly recommend that Tressie (who was awarded "Angel of the Year" by Austin (2014) continue her long term AND PROVEN successful program that enriches the life of challenged adults and their families.
