Mission: To provide farm-based developmental programs for children and adults with cognitive disabilities and their caregivers.
Programs: The corporation is established as a non-profit corporation that serves the needs of children with developmental disorders on the autism spectrum and their parents or guardians. It shall be operated exclusively for educational and charitable purposes within the meaning of section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code. The range of disorders addressed by our programs includes pervasive developmental disorders not otherwise specified atypical. Our programs develop and research new methods of learning to meet the needs of children on the autism spectrum and their parents by providing indoor and outdoor settings for cognitive and sensory development. Programs will be integrated into day-to-day activities of a working farm when possible. Atypical place also provides opportunities for autism research grant recipients to carry out their research programs.
