Mission: The mission of atkins house is to provide opportunities for the woman offender to develop her potential for a responsible, productive and law-abiding lifestyle.
Programs: Unfortunately atkins house closed its doors as of 6/30/14 and is in the process of winding up its affairs. Atkins house is a residential community corrections center for women offenders. The goal of atkins house in york, pennsylvania, is to provide information, skill development and ongoing support to help women offenders lead law-abiding, productive and responsible lives-free of crime, drugs and alcohol. The program had approximately 45 women served by their residential program. Atkins house hiv/aids education/prevention program includes education groups at atkins house as well as york county prison, it also includes individual risk assessments and risk reduction counseling at both locations. All atkins house hiv/aids programs are open to any woman offender or ex-offender in york county. Services are free. Approximately 629 individuals attended the hiv/aids programs.
