berkeley continuum seeks to implement an integrated and replicable continuum of services and supports for older adults and people with disabilities. Teams have been working in four areas: a housing pilot concept, a technology platform built to serve the community, the design of a prevention/early intervention home visiting program, and an advocacy program which has begun with a survey of the community and plans for presentation to city council in spring, 2018.
age-friendly berkeley developed a community task force (to construct a 3-5 year plan), conducted a city-wide assessment of policies on aging and developed a municipal tool kit for policy recommendations. Through research (surveys, focus groups and community meetings), public input, key partnerships and best practice analysis, synthesized the findings into a report. The age friendly berkeley plan was submitted to aarp/who, and secured berkeleys designation as an age friendly city.
