I had the pleasure of volunteering for the Arts Out Loud social media! The founder Jennifer Heastings is such a great person to talk to, very understanding, and hilarious! Such a genuine person who wants to make a difference in helping the LGBTQ youth community.

When I had found her post on Volunteer Match, I felt like I just had to get involved because I am an ally of the LGBTQ community and want to help out any way I can. I have friends who are basically family to me and I stand together with them. I remember talking to Jennifer over the phone when we first met (I volunteered remotely) and discussed the direction for the social media and the message of her organization. We collaborated very well and kept in touch via email discussing postings and troubleshooting.

This is an organization from the heart, I greatly believe that Arts Out Loud can change lives!

Arts Out Loud is a very special organization. The care and dedication of its team is awe inspiring. They help the community in such a personalized and heart filled way. I have yet to see another founder with such vision, passion and deep understanding for their beneficiaries. If you get a chance, look into this group!

Arts Out Loud has been a fabulous addition to my life and the LGBTQ youth population of Pittsburgh as well as nationally. AOL offers scholarships to students pursuing the arts, social networking events to connect with like-minded individuals to talk about their art or whatever is on their mind, and education classes with industry professionals in the arts. It's a one-of-a-kind organization and I'm quite proud of it and to be a part of it.
