Mission: Anjuman-E-Asghari, founded in 1989, provides Islamic services to the metro region of Minnesota. It was founded after several families fled from Uganda in the 1970's, during the rule of Idi Amin. At first, sermons were held in homes, then in community centers. The need for a real Islamic center was felt, and finally in 1989 Anjuman-E-Asghari was established. Since then, Anjuman-E-Asghari has founded an Islamic School, Islamic Sunday School, and is currently in the process of developing an multipurpose center. Anjuman-E-Asghari, since its inception, has been working hard to create an Islamic environment for Muslims in America.
