Nonprofit Overview

Causes: Animal Protection & Welfare, Animal Services, Animals, Unknown

Mission: Animal House Project is a 501(c)3 charitable organization with multiple programs under our umbrella. Chester County Pet Food Pantry is on a mission to help companion pets stay at home and out of animal shelters by providing donated pet food to families in financial need. In 2016 after receiving a request from a pet food company, we created a Rescue Pet Food Pantry to help smaller grassroot 501 (c) 3 rescues and shelters obtain food thus using budgeted funds for life-saving operations; spay/neuter programs and adoptions. We have helped Rescues in the Tri-State area surrounding Pennsylvania all the way to Tennessee; Mississippi and even as far as Texas. In addition, in partnership with The Spayed Club in Sharon Hill, we provide spay/neuter services for our companion pets and in early 2021, we went back to our original mission of helping small rescues with fundraising and critical management needs to help where we were needed most. Raising funds and awareness for animal welfare. For our Board, we are all about the Animals and giving a Voice to the Voiceless.

Results: In 2019 Animal House Project, donated 400,000 lbs of dry and wet food to both companion and rescue pets. Due to COVID-19, our numbers in 2020 and 2021, doubled and the demand is continuing to grow. Overall, our numbers increased to over 2 million pounds of animal food donated. Quite an undertaking for a Non-Profit consisting of 100% Volunteers!!

Target demographics: Families facing financial crisis feed and care for the companion pets

Direct beneficiaries per year: 2900 Families and 3800 + Companion Animals

Geographic areas served: Pennsylvania

Programs: Donated Pet Food and Spay & Neuter Services

I have been a client of Animal House Project for six years. With their help I have been able to properly take care of my sweet cats, dog and Cadbury, my rabbit. They have a wonderful support system, and the best Veterinarian for spay/nueter, and so wonderfully affordable.

I am totally impressed about how they've been handling pet food distribution during COVID.

They are a unique group!!!

Thank you to Animal House Project and all their donors! We might not have very much, but we try very hard to take good care of our cats. Pictured is Misty. She was dumped off at a barn near our house. So very thin. We finally trapped her ( trap,neuter,release-TNR) the vet called and said misty was already fixed an also front declawed. We tried to find an owner. But she decided we were her family! She is a very happy ,healthy and sweet girl! Thank you again for helping us keep her well fed!

What a fantastic organization! I have been volunteering for about a year now and I love the fact that we "keep families together". Especially with Covid19, we helped a lot of people who lost income to keep their pets out of shelters. A lot of these animals are sanity for their owners and I would hate to see what would happen to them without their pets. Plus they have a Marketplace page to raise money to buy food that they need if we don't get enough donations. Great bunch of people to work with too.

Animal House Project has enabled my Mom to keep her beloved cats. Without the monthly donation of food she could not afford their care. They are a wonderful organization, the volunteers are always caring, kind and thoughtful. Can't say enough about all the good deeds they do for those less fortunate who want to keep their beloved pets.

I couldn't think of volunteering for a better, more impactful non-profit organization than Animal House Project. I hear at every pet pantry from people how thankful they are for the pet food to keep their pets in their homes, spay & neutering services and other pet supplies. There isn't a better non-profit to support or for volunteering.

This charity and all their volunteer workers go above and beyond to help keep our pets out of shelters which I greatly appreciate I have eight cats and four dogs would not be able to keep them without this help of this organization. Mary Beth does an excellent job she just had a complicated back surgery and still was that today's pet pantry drive-thru that's pure dedication. Michelle who runs the flea markets and several other events also does an excellent job they do anything they can to pull donations for pet supplies for the needy myself being one of them. I have been with them for the past 10 years since I lost my husband my animals are very grateful also they definitely deserve to be top rated nonprofit organization for 2021 and in my opinion or future years to come!

I started volunteering for Animal House Project several months ago. This is a special group of people who do amazing work. AHP is helping people with financial hardship keep their animals by working tirelessly with area organizations, receiving donations and partnering with the Pennsylvania SPCA to provide low-cost vaccinations. It not only allows these individuals to retain and care for furry family members, it prevents unnecessary surrenders to already overcrowded local shelters. Animal House Project is truly a fantastic organization that I am honored to be involved with.

I just recently started volunteering for this wonderful and passionate organization. The Animal House Project is incredibly passionate about what they do, and they make sure their clients and their pets are satisfied. I have pets of my own and it gives me such comfort to know that the Animal House Project exists. The people I volunteer with are so friendly. They all want to help those who need help taking care of their pets. Animal House Project provides food, low-cost vaccinations and also a low-cost Spay/Neuter Program. In order for us to do our job, we need donations. Please donate what you can, and help us make those in need pet owners happy.

I have been a Volunteer for past year for this great Organization. I am currently the Volunteer Coordinator and enjoy every minute of it. Marybeth (President) and her husband Steve (Logistics Manager) are very devoted to this cause and are the reason this Org is top notch.
It gives me such pleasure to help our clients who truly love their pets and need some help in providing food, low cost vaccinations or taking advantage of our affiliation with the Spay/Neuter program. We do "Whatever it takes" to help these people and they love us for it!
We need donations, so please give whatever you can to help us as we continue to grow our client population every month! Thank you

I have been volunteering with Animal House Project for a couple of years and I can't say enough about this great organization. It seeks to solve the problem of over crowded shelters by allowing pets to stay in their homes rather than being surrendered due to financial hardship. The organization provides free food, reduced cost spay/neuter and immunizations and education about proper pet care. It feels so good knowing that I am helping to keep beloved pets in their homes and out of over crowded shelters.

I've been a volunteer for Animal House Project for about a year. I was very impressed with all the work they do to keep pets at home with their families and out of shelters. We are always very grateful for any kind of help that can be offered, volunteering, pet food donations and monetary donations. Our slogan is "Help us help them. " Thank you, Theresa

I am a volunteer at Animal House Project and it makes my heart swell with pride when I see the families that are so grateful the food we give them so that they can keep their loving companions with them. We have to thank many people who donate both money and food to support our efforts. We provide food for Dogs and cats as well as reptiles, birds, rabbits and even some horses.
Mary Beth and Steven give allot of their time to make this organization a success.

I'm a proud volunteer for a wonderful organization known as Animal House Project.
This organization allows economically challenged individuals to continue to keep their pets, rather than surrender them, by providing free food and reduced immunizations. The people that support animal House projects are compassionate and caring.
I urge you all to please our organization by donating time, products or financial contributions. Thank you have a happy and pet healthy 2016! Dianne
