Programs: Standards, assessment and deeper learning/p2p - the focus of this program of work is around ensuring that state and district leaders are supported in ensuring that state level college and career ready standards result in a rigorous, well-rounded curriculum and robust secondary learning experience for all students, particularly traditionally underserved students. The work includes the development of resources and tools to support state and district leaders in making a case for this work by invoking economic impact data as well as technical know-how related to implementation of policy including an understanding of international best practice.

comprehensive high school reform/policy development and government relations - the focus of this program of work is around ensuring systems that lead to equity in our nation's high schools. The work is focused on strengthening federal and state policy to ensure an accurate picture of what is happening in our nation's high schools, particularly the performance of historically underserved students, the rate of improvement in the nation's lowest-performing high schools and the degree to which students are graduating ready for sucess in college, career and life. The organization works closely with federal policymakers (congressional members and their staff as well as officials in the administration and white house) as well as with state level policymakers including governors, chief state school officers, state legislators and state board members as well as national membership groups that represent these officials. Other critical partners for this work are the nation's leading civil rights organizations.

digital p2p/future ready schools - the focus of this program of work is around encouraging and supporting district leaders to more boldly envision the future of education in their districts and the learning goals for their students. The vast majority of this support has come through the alliance's future ready schools (frs) project through which district leaders can pledge to make their districts "future ready" as well as tools that help them work with a district team to comprehensively review the operation of the district and develop a plan to personalize learning in part through the effective use of technology and digital learning. Teams from districts around the country have also benefited from attending frs summits and workshops that offer hands-on support in this work.
