Causes: Education, Job Training
Mission: The mission of APICC is to ensure the availability of highly-trained Alaskans, sufficient to staff the process industry competitively, now and in the future, through partnerships, leadership, awareness and advocacy, and alignment. The activities of APICC, our yearly strategic plans and ongoing initiatives are all aligned to this mission.
Target demographics: workforce development, safety training
Geographic areas served: Alaska
Programs: APICC partners with other organizations that believe in developing Alaska's most important resource, our people. We are helping Alaskans gain the work skills they need through training, skills building, higher education, and career awareness. Special emphasis is given to occupations with an identified shortage of qualified Alaskans. Preparing Alaskans to be "work-ready" strengthens Alaska businesses and supports a healthy economy. APICC currently supports a number of initiatives and services to its constituents and the Alaska education and business community, including employability skills (YES!), the Alaska Business Education Compact, and the North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC). We manage the NSTC to ensure delivery of high quality, standardized health, safety and environmental training programs for workers on the North Slope and across Alaska.
