Mission: To provide supportive services to victims of domestic and sexual violence, and to provide prevention and education about domestic and sexual violence.
Programs: Safe shelter - aware provides safe shelter for women and children: 10,114 nights of safe shelter for 197 women and 85 children; emergency response to over 600 crisis calls on our 24 hour crisis line; 150 protection order legal advocacy for victims; individual advocacy and support and with partner agencies.
education and prevention - aware provided 154 school presentations for 3,486 contacts; trainings for approximately 139 community members and professionals; coordination of the juneau violence prevention coalition and implementing strategies to prevent interpersonal violence, including girls on the run, boy run: itoowu'klatseen, coaching boys into men, and more.
children's services - aware provided individual advocacy for 85 children; 961 hours of counseling for 95 children and supportive parents; 98 education and support groups for 74 children; 432 contacts of childcare for 71 children.
