A Vision to Empower was an absolute blessing to our family this summer! My 9 year old said to me “ This camp has given me confidence.” It’s the simple things that leave such an impact on our children! Every member of the staff invested genuine care and established relationships with our children. Our children were always safe and were in love with the FOOOD!!! I am grateful that our children were able to experience A Vision to Empower. We are all looking forward to next year!
This is family! My daughter enjoys getting up every day to attend summer camp. She’s happy and the fact that they keep her included and off her electronics is a great plus! Mrs. Ebony is the cool aunty and not only my daughter but the kids light up every morning as they walk through the door to spend the day with her and the counselors. My daughter is already talking about going back next year and camp isn’t done yet !!! Thank you for treating her and all the kiddies like your own.
I loved it everyone here is so nice and my boss is great and welcoming couldn’t ask for nobody better and she teaches the kids great and makes sure they stay on top of their study’s and have fun later and these kids are very smart for their age but they are also still kids and she also understands that I love it here
A Vision to Empower is a great place for children, and is an amazing community. It has fostered new bonds between the children and taught them many new things.
A vision to empower is an amazing place for a summercamp. The students are very nice and respectful, and a good amount of counselors for the students ensures their safety and education.
They help kids maintain their academic growth over the summer and are very welcoming to all types of kids from all over the world.

Love this experience, every since I came here I been having a great time, love the kids, they are very funny and cool, we have been going on fun trips, anybody who come here will have a good time and a great experience.
I enjoyed being a volunteer towards the program and aiding in everyday activities and bonding the with the children.
During my time working with the charity, I had the opportunity to see first hand how impactful the program is for the kids. The initiative ensures that children stay focused on their education during the summer while also having fun. In the mornings, the kids focused on their math and English skills, strengthening their academic foundation. As a counselor, I watched the kids enjoy various activities, from arts and crafts to days spent playing in the park and exciting field trips. It was truly rewarding to be part of a program that balances learning and fun so effectively.
This nonprofit has been helpful in my development in professional skills and in helping me complete an internship.
Ms. Ebony encourages me to be my best and the kids are delightful to work with. I feel everyone I've met that is a part of the team of this nonprofit has been kind and supportive to me. It has helped me to embrace challenges with faith and to make a positive impact in the lives of underserved children that I will always cherish. I appreciate this professional opportunity as one where I can grow, thrive, and where I'm appreciated. I appreciate A Vision to Empower as an opportunity to fulfill a personal goal I had of giving back to children in the black community where I have had the privilege of having more access to certain opportunities or education.
I will always be grateful that A Vision to Empower has been a part of my journey. I have been able to witness and document the positive impact it has had on children and I hope it will continue to be a blessing to children, especially Black and brown children.
A Vision to Empower is a great place. I enjoy attending their community events and love volunteering with the kids.
This place is great and it helped me in school with some things and I was the valedictorian in 5th grade.
The experience at A Vision to Empower is 5 star because they make me laugh, and get to have new friends and also makes it a lot easier for me to learn.
This establishment is very welcoming with their extremely friendly workers and people. The place is clean and is evidently well maintained. I really enjoy coming here and plan on going again.
I want to start by thanking Ms. Ebony for providing me the chance to take part in such an enjoyable summer job . The nicest part of my summer job was working here! I'd give this experience a 10/10. The kids encaged in many fun activities and trips, we also assisted them with their schoolwork, which allowed them to learn a lot , it’s a very welcoming environment for both kids and staff , The director/owner Ms.ebony puts a lot of work and effort to make sure the kids have a memorable summer . I will definitely be returning next summer !!
Working here was such a great experience! A Vision To Empower and its community have some of the nicest and welcoming people. The environment is amazing for the kids and staff. Will definitely be returning next summer!
I worked here over the summer and iI really liked it. Not only is the work environment wonderful, everyone is really nice and makes sure that you’re comfortable. Ms. Ebony, (the owner) does an amazing job making sure there is a wonderful work environment for the kids and staff. Overall I would rate this summer working here a 10/10 and I can’t wait for next summer to work here again !!
This center is definitely one of the most God's given place, where you can find people dedicated to kids. Thanks to every staff member in there, my child can actually do her work correctly.
I love this place. Safe, friendly and inviting. I don’t know how they do it, there’s magic happening there and I’m glad to be able to witness it.
This organization is amazing. They give back, and offer children more than most classroom teachers. So happy I choose this place as a safe haven, learning environment for my child.
I love everything about this establishment, from the way it’s ran to how they embrace and empower the children. The director and owner Ebony Woods pours everything and more into these children. When their own teachers say they aren’t capable, she proves them wrong. The bond and relationship between her and the kids are unimaginable. And the progress made is phenomenal. Even though this is a summer enrichment camp, they do truly enjoy themselves. 10/10 would recommend, as a staff member or someone sending my child here.
Working at A Vision to Empower felt welcoming and it felt like a big family. The kids are able to get help with there schoolwork and fun place to be in the summer and after school.
My experience was been great, the tutor are friendly communication is wonderful and easy to understand, my son has learned a lot and still is, your questions are always answered in a minutely manner.
I loved my experience at A Vision to Empower! We were able to help kids learn and improve their skills. The kids were well behaved by the time we finished this program and they loved working with us. We loved working with them as well! The coworkers and supervisor were super respectful, we were able to keep the kids under control, and we were able to work together as a group. The place was well taken care and so were the kids. If i participate in SYEP again next year, this nonprofit program would definitely be on my list! Thank you for this eye opening experience!
Working here was great! All the people were nice and welcoming people. And i like the fact how they put work first because their motive is to help kids succeed which is great
A Vision To Empower is a wonderful and safe environment where i feel comfortable to share my emotions and thoughts without hesitation.
I wish I had known about this earlier. My daughter improved in a short span attending. She completed her homework on time and perfect program for kids on remote days.
This organization has become a positive addition to the community for for students and our neighborhood. From teaching, tutoring and offering community services and givebacks. Thank you A Vision To Empower.
When I started using A Vision to Empower program my child was struggling academically and very unsociable. She was in need of some assistance in areas that I didn't have the expertise in. Since she has been attending the program at A Vision to Empower have seen so much academic growth in my daughter. She is also now not intimated to be sociable with her peers in her school. I am very pleased with the services that this organization provides for my child. It is a family environment and I appreciate that as well.
This center is amazing, there name speaks for itself. It empowers under privileged students through education, shaping them for a better future. They work with students in a way to cater to their individualistic needs which sets them up for success. It is runned by an amazing educator Ebony Woods who is dedicated to serve the community in the best of ways. She puts in all her hardwork and effort to help students succeed in every way possible.
I highly recommend Envision to Empower community based program. My daughter was in high school and struggled with math. She lacked confidence and felt tremendous pressure in comparison to her peers. She received one on one tutoring and progressively excelled in math. As a result of this program, she went into honors math and later received over $100,000 in scholarships for college. I am forever grateful to Mrs. Woods for her passion to see these children succeed. My daughter is living proof: she is now a Sophomore @ Howard University, studying Nutritional Sciences & a minor in Biology! You won’t regret being apart of this village!!
This center is a God send. My kids started here since kindergarten and with the staff's help they were able to reach all of their benchmarks. The pandemic hit and I didn't know what I was going to since my job is considered essential. The center notified they would open to help facilitate homeschool. It was the best news of that year. My kids have been striving due too all of the handwork the staff have given. My kids are currently enrolled for after-school this year and we have been having a great 2nd grade year. We are never leaving Ebony and her center.
A Vision To Empower has been wonderful to the community. Throughout my time as working as a volunteer we have impacted and shaped the youth by instilling great character traits and pushing them forward within their education. We have also done many giveaways for the children of the community
A Vision to Empower is a trusted nonprofit where my children were able to receive the support they needed to advance their education. Between the educational focus of summer camp and additional extracurricular fun activities, my children achieved the summer goal of completing their homework packets and having a great summer. Having know Ms. Woods for many years, I have always trusted her with my children. She cares for them as if they are her own. A Vision to Empower is a caring environment in our community!!!
This place is great and very affordable. Serves the community with pride and excellence. Treats the students with respect and the tutors are well educated and professional. Love it here !
My daughter has been enrolled in A Vision to Empower since she started 1st Grade. Every year she becomes more confident in her studies(ELA &Science). When the pandemic hit I was worried but thanks to A Vision to Empower remote sessions she grew two reading levels over the summer break. I’m forever grateful and thankful to the staff and founder for always putting their best foot forward regardless of the situation.
They do a lot of good things for the community. The staff are wonderful and patient. Everyone loves what they do and it shows. Ms. Ebony always encourages the kids to be strong and proud.
This is a great program for children of all ages. This program allows to children to receive the extra academic help and offers tutoring for after school. I believe this affords children the extra helping hand to get the additional push for skills they struggle with. I love this program and everything it stands for because education should come first, which is something that is instilled in this institution.
They really care about the kids and it shows. You can clearly see and feel the family and the happiness that this nonprofit generates. I am so glad that I was able to be a part of the organization and it did more than far exceeded my expectations. When it was work time, the kids got to work and when needed the teachers really took charge and didn't only help get the answer but also guide them through it so that they really understand. and can do it themselves next time.
I have witnessed A Vision To Empower from infancy and the love, support and quality of programming Ms. Woods provides is like no other. To know that the children are in an environment that truly cares for and builds them up provides great comfort to parents. Students are offered more than just homework help and are able to gain an understanding of the work in front of them.
When a program is created, developed and operated out of one's passion it shows and thrives so much more. I am grateful to have the opportunity to support a program in my local community that I can personally see doing the footwork needed for our young people. Ms. Woods recently expanded and to know that the support of everyone who showed was organic (no marketing/advertising) speaks volumes about the impact her program is making. Without hesitation, I will always recommend A Vision To Empower and look forward to all the success awaiting the program in the future.
This nonprofit organization is AMAZING for so many reasons. There aren't too many places where you can send your children to get help with school work but come home with so much more. You're treated like family and at the end of the day they give you their all to ALL.
A Vision To Empower is a great organization. My oldest son started off with tutoring in the 1st grade and is now a junior tutor, working with Mrs. Woods. My youngest son started tutoring during the summer before his kindergarten year and is now in the 2nd grade. Mrs. Woods and her staff work with each child's individual challenges, to come up with a plan to help each student excel and master the functions that they once struggled in. She helps build their confidence, to know that they are capable of doing the work on their own.
In addition to the enrichment program, A Vision To Empower also gives back to the same community that Mrs. Woods grew up in and where many of her students currently live. There are backpage/school supply giveaways, computer classes for the children being tutored, group activities that are open to the community, a summer camp program and so much more.
I definitely recommend this program to parents who are looking for educational assistance for their child.
A Vision to Empower is an amazing nonprofit organizing any parent would want their child/children to be a part of. I love everything about this organization. The owner, Mrs. Woods, is an incredible human being , an educator who wants the best for our children just as much as we do as parents. My daughter attends after school and camp at this phenomenal organization and she has learned and gained so much information while attending these sessions. Look no further, A Vision To Empower is where it’s at for our future leaders.
I love this place . A great environment for the children to be themselves . Ms. Woods has played a tremendous part in assisting my child with the struggles she has had with reading and reading comprehension. We have been going to Ms. Woods since my child was in kindergarten and she is now in 3rd grade. She takes the time to really understand the children and comes up with strategies that works best for the individual child . Everyone that works with children are nice and courteous. Ms. Woods goes above and beyond for the children and the community she is servicing
Excellent services for children and the community. The owner is very detail oriented, caring and has excellent customer service skills.
Mrs. Woods and her staff are phenomenal. Caring, concerned, fun, great at fixing matters and kid friendly my daughter anticipates returning.
A Vision to Empower is a staple in the community, which provides a safe space where children feel comfortable and free to learn and explore educationally and culturally. This program has helped students strengthen in areas of academic challenge as well as cultivate and develop existing talents. A Vision to Empower not only benefits the students who attend, it also contributes a great deal to the community as a whole. The diverse programing and services offered, in the Arts, STEM, Technology, Music and more nurtures our children in all aspects - educationally, socially, emotionally, and culturally, teaching the importance of education and community. It is not only for the growth and development of our children but also serves as a resource for community members in need. I appreciate all the work that A Vision to Empower is doing with our children and in the community and look forward to all the great thing to come from this organization.
I am thankful for A Vision to Empower. They have given my children the confidence to know that they can achieve whatever they put their mind to. I am happy for this staple in our community, and will continue to be a client for years to come.
When walking into A vision to empower you can tell that the kids really enjoy their time being there. They smile from ear to ear and they are very respectful to not only to the tutors, but to each other. The kids are aware that there is a time for playing and a time for working. They are encouraged to ask questions if they are unsure about their work. Although some may get frustrated when they don’t understand they continue to try with the support of the tutors and Ms. Ebony.
My started going to A Vision to Empower about a year ago when he was in the 3rd grade. I was referred to Ebony Woods by someone who works with the DOE.
My son attends Success Academy. They were attempting to get him special education resources. After the review with the DOE he did not qualify, which was fine with me. What he needed was tutoring. He began to attend tutoring with A Vision to Empower. Over a few weeks we began to see improvement. He was confident and that was something he lacked.
I didn’t want him to lose everything over the summer so he continued to attended A Vision to Empower just before this school year. He was given a reading assessment to see what his reading level was in late September. He was 2 reading levels ahead! We were so excited. I felt like the school counted my son out. I felt like they were using him to get THEM extra resources. But he wasn’t just a number to Mrs. Ebony. She cares. He knows it and I know it.
My son enjoys his sessions. He is sure of himself now. I tried everything I could to help him. A Vision to Empower was what he needed.
