Mission: ASD addresses the need to support the 1.2 billion people who do not have access to water and the 3-5 million people dying of water related diseases per year. ASD focuses on meeting the Millenium Development Goals by ensuring that appropriate technologies and business skills are tranferred to local communities to address their own water issues using sustainable practices.
Programs: SAFEWATER FOR ALL PEOPLE - ASD opens National independent offices in developing countries to act as a Regioanl Water Education Training Centers mentoring in-country Nationals to run the organization. The National office then creates community based water organizations to be empowered technologically and become independent and self-reliant.WOMEN WATERKEEPERS - ASD transfers appropriate technologies and organizational development workshops to assist women's burden as water bearers and offers them opportunities to create micro-businesses to support their own water service organization.YOUTH AS WATER EDUCATORS - ASD empowers youth with water education skills to share in their communities and launch local water action campaigns."WE RISE" MILLION VOICE CHOIR uses music and a powerful message to promotes water as a source of peace and unity. ASD shares a powerful message to the world; "it takes single drop of water to start a wave, one person, one thought, one action to create social change!"
