Hi, I am on the Steering Committee of 350Marin. 350Bay Area is super supportive of our local group. The 350Bay Area team is working hard to be our "motherboard" and to keep us updated on what is cooking, like essential bills to support or oppose Bay Area and state-wide and sending reminders of deadlines. 350 Bay Area does all the good work to make it easy for us volunteers to be as effective as possible. They organize Zoom meetings and online platforms for 350 Bay Area groups to stay informed about what each group is doing, stay connected, and work together on Bay Area-wide actions. They invite us to meetings and greetings in person at fun locations in nature or city hubs. The leading team provides education, material, and funding support. They show up when called for in-person or online zooms to offer support and to work together. 350 Bay Area is great and important to me.

350 Bay Area is determined to solve the climate crisis with a combination of feisty and persistent organizing as well as savvy policy work. They are always part of coalitions working for clean energy, decommissioning refineries, electrifying buildings and vehicles, clean air, and climate justice. Whether it's a demonstration with thousands of people or a small group testifying at an Air Board hearing, 350 is a leading force for preserving a livable planet and making it a better place for everyone.

The leadership of this organization is competent, thoughtful, and action-oriented. They are directly addressing the most urgent challenge of our time through grassroots organizing and legislative strategies aimed at helping one of the largest subnational governments in the world reach its ambitious climate goals. I commend them to anyone who wants to make a difference in the climate space, particularly in California.

350 Bay Area and it’s sister organization, 350 Bay Area Action are climate advocacy organizations in the San Francisco Bay Area. Together they work to make sure that California remains a climate leader. They educate the public, meet with both state and federal leaders, make comments on climate regulations, organize public demonstrations and partner with local and national coalitions to promote intelligent and effective climate solutions. With a small but dedicated team of volunteers, they are very effective.

I care deeply about the natural world and also about fairness, treating people with respect and kindness. I feel quite desperate about how our goverment leaders are ignoring the Climate Crisis. I know it takes more than demonstrations in the street to change policies and build an equitable economy that is not based on fossil fuels. 350 Bay Area and 350 Bay Area Action take up this difficult task of staying on top of Climate issues in our CA State legislature. I have seen as a Volunteer, working with other volunteers that they study, discuss, and lobby for Ca State Bills that address the Climate Crisis. They gave me guidance and leadership to learn this process and teamwork to stay with it. They research the complex issues of clean energy, including, carbon capture technology, E.V. and public transportation, lithium battery storage. And I always hear their concern fof how these issues affect all. This monumental tradition is about people and I think they really get that. I can always go their website and find meaningful ways to engage and support their work, and learn about important issues.

I've been actively involved with this group for a decade. It does a great job on multiple fronts - education about climate change, as well as promoting solutions at the national, State, and local / personal levels. They cover the entire SF Bay Area with individual chapters and team efforts according to the interests of members. The best thing is its lack of top-down bureaucracy, which plagues other organizations and stifles creativity and slows down action. 350 Bay Area is a vibrant, nimble nonprofit.

350 Bay Area is one of the most effective non-profits in the Bay Area. This grassroots group is a collaboration among incredibly smart and dedicated people from all walks of life, working to address climate change. The organization includes representatives from around the Bay Area, working in local chapters so that solutions can be tailored to the distinctive communities within which members live and work. In addition, issue-focused groups enable members to work on issues of concern to the entire Bay area.
Collaboration with affiliated 350 groups and allies across the state, as well as with its sister organization, 350 Bay Area Action dedicated to supporting climate and environmental legislation, further reinforce the group's reach and effectiveness.

350 Bay Area creates and supports climate actions across the spectrum, from technical advocacy on clean power legislation, to friendly advice on cutting emissions at home. They also help lead the Bay Area climate movement toward diversity and equity by a) hiring and recruiting members and staff across categories such as age, gender identity, ethnicity, race and income and b) working for environmental and climate justice in collaboration with local organizations in frontline communities.

As a member of a local 350BA branch (San Francisco), I value the Bay Area group's generosity with resources from web design and maintenance to keeping our financial and tax paperwork in order. They help new members find their feet with us at times when we don't have bandwidth to take tea with new enrollments, and we use their database to keep track of member teams. Their communications system powers the fortnightly newsletter that promotes member interest in our campaigns and keeps our members up to date with activities.

I first became aware of 350 Bay Area while living in a forest in Australia back in 2013. In 2015 I was fortunate enough to relocate to San Francisco. The first thing I did was to hunt out and attend a 350 Bay Area meeting. I was impressed by the warm welcome I received and the breadth of local actions and issues under consideration. Starting then, and continuing to the present, I have volunteered my limited video editing and filming skills to amplify 350 Bay Area's impact at the local, regional and national level. I highly recommend 350 Bay Area to anyone who is interested in joining a well managed, well informed and well respected not-for-profit with a proven track record of achievement.

I began to volunteer with 350 Bay Area because I was concerned by the climate crisis and consequently if my children and grandchildren would have a livable future. Five years later I am still volunteering, inspired by the level of commitment of the staff and the many volunteers, especially young people who have stepped up to build a movement. It is impressive the impact that 350 Bay Area has accomplished in educating local, state and federal elected officials about the potential devastation that could occur if we don't stop using fossil fuels. With 350 Bay Area 's bold actions I believe that we will be able to avert disaster so all humanity will be safe and thrive,

350 Bay Area is an amazing organization! I have been working for them for about 2 months and have learned so much already about climate change and how we can work together to solve the problems that are contributing to it. I appreciate how accessible everything feels- regardless of background knowledge or experience, there are ways that anyone can take action. 350 does a very good job of breaking down a daunting issue into smaller, solvable problems, and teaching people how to take action. All of the volunteers and employees who are a part of 350 are so fun to work with, and it is inspiring to be a part of a group of people who are all passionate about helping the climate crisis.

350 Bay Area is a unique organization that combines deep substantive knowledge with strong advocacy and outreach engaging hundreds of volunteers to make positive climate change regionally and nationally. 350 Bay Area has expertise in clean air, clean energy, transporation and fossil fuel reduction, and many other areas. By bringing together diverse voices with coherent strategies, 350 Bay Area is making a difference in improving the climate and health of our citizens. 350 Bay Area played a huge role in getting the Air Quality Commissioners to vote for stricter air standards. The organization personifies an excellent nonprofit that mobilizes citizens to make a diference with limited resources.

I have been a climate activist volunteer with this organization since it began almost 10 years ago. It is an amazing group of people that work together so well in both getting people out in the streets bringing attention to the climate crisis and fighting the inside game on policy in the legislature and at various administrative bodies/agencies in the state. They do this latter as well as lawyers with other groups who have been around much longer. It is very hard to find that combination in a grassroots group. It has to find its own funding as the national organization with 350 in its name is mostly spending its money on international groups. I often wonder how much more we could do with more staff, but donors are beginning to notice that they get so much more for their $$ with what 350 Bay Area does. We have been integral in having regulations passed to decrease pollution/emissions in the Bay Area that have established a nationwide precedent for what refineries must stop doing.

350 Bay Area is a great organization that really understands engaging, educating and mobilizing the community to fight(!) for deep systemic change that will bring justice to the climate and environmental movement. I've been with 350 Bay Area for a year now, and the organization's ability to bring in people from all points of the movement- from wonks to activist-curious- is one of its greatest strengths. This is all possible due to the fact that 350 Bay Area is overwhelmingly volunteer run and maintained. This model allows for authentic community involvement while maintaining efficacy in an often crowded field. 350 Bay Area is a go-to organization for politicians, journalists, community advocates, educators and everyone in between for understanding the strategy to winning the climate fight.

The 350 Bay Area leadership team of about 40 volunteers, along with a very small staff, support hundreds of volunteer activists and advocates working at the state, agency and local levels to pass policies that reduce emissions. It's an amazingly capable and dedicated team, not just adding to the groundswell demand for action, but combining that with policy solutions. The climate emergency is real, and its effects are already catastrophic, but there is so much hope in working with this team on real solutions.

I've been working at 350 Bay Area for three years now and in this short time we've grown exponentially. One of our programs was so successful it launched into a fully independent organization; the second time this has happened in 350 Bay Area's history. Our supporter list has grown by 30% organically from our involvement in the community, visibility in the streets, and reputation online. I often here people do an online search for "climate activism", find our organization, and sign up for alerts. It's truly heartwarming and inspiring how 350 Bay Area is led by volunteers: people who dedicate their free time to ensure policy matches the science and prevent the worst of the climate crisis. I'm honored to work for 350 Bay Area and wake up every day with optimism for our future because of it.

I've been working as a volunteer with 350 Bay Area for nearly year and a half now. After researching several organizations in the Bay Area, I chose 350 Bay Area for their wide breadth of programs and broad impact, even having joined them as a Board member for the past 6 months. The organization is a key part of the climate movement in the Bay Area, in California, and holds sway nationally. The core leadership of the organization are an extremely principled and experienced group of organizers that work collaboratively internally, and with outside partners on one of the most pressing issues of our times.
