Nonprofit Overview
Causes: Homeless & Housing, Housing Development, Construction & Management
Mission: Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry dedicated to eliminating substandard housing and homelessness worldwide and to making adequate, affordable shelter a matter of conscience and action. Habitat invites people from all faiths and walks of life to work together in partnership, building houses with families in need.
Target demographics: families in need with affordable home ownership
Geographic areas served: Greater Lowell and Northern Middlesex County MA
Programs: To build safe, decent, energy efficient affordable houses for low-income families. In addition to building affordable homes, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Lowell also reaches out to our local veterans, elderly and disabled to help with repairs to their homes. Habitat of Lowell opened a ReStore at 100 Chelmsford Rd, Billerica. This store sells new and used items (electrical, appliances, plumbing, building material and more) to the public.
