Causes: Human Services, Seniors, Supportive Housing for Older Adults
Mission: The mission of interfaith caregivers of washington county is to "connect seniors with caring volunteers. " volunteers lend a caring and compassionate "helping hand" with elder assistance and transportation. Our vision is that all of washington county's most frail and elderly citizens will have access to resources necessary to maintain independence.
Programs: Senior assistance: interfaith volunteers offer a helping hand to washington county seniors with tasks inside and outside the home. These include: friendly visits, grocery shopping, spring and fall yard clean-up, mowing, weeding, snow shoveling, meal preparation, moving assistance, light house cleaning, meal delivery and reassurance calls. In 2017, 5,696 services were provided with 4,286 volunteer hours.
senior transportation: interfaith's volunteer drivers provide transportation for washington county seniors with limited means and mobility. Each ride is in one of interfaith's fleet of accessible mini- vans or in the volunteer's personal vehicle. These rides are a vital link for frail and elderly washington county residents to access critical services both inside and outside of washington county. Destinations include: healthcare, wellness, nutrition and socialization. In 2017, 10,325 trips were provided with 10,863 volunteer hours.
