At a recent visit I was helped by a very enthusiastic young man named Ashton. He not only provided a thorough tour of the facility, but also expertly checked me out upon completing shopping. He made my experience easy and enjoyable. This, coupled with a stellar, clean, well stocked facility made the overall experience memorable.
MMSFI was a huge help to our family during the pandemic. It was not only the bountiful (literally filling our trunk!) fresh and shelf stable foods that we relied on every other week - but also (maybe even more-so) the friendly smiling faces of their volunteers during that scary time of uncertainty that we looked forward to. We will be forever grateful and supportive of MMSFI.
We brought a group of volunteers to help in sorting and repackaging items for our veterans. The warehouse environment and setup were great! Mass Military Support is very organized and want to make sure our veterans are provided with quality goods. We sorted out over 100 boxes of various items to distribute. We are waiting expectantly to assist MMSF shortly at their soon-to-be location in Norton, Mass.
I started volunteering with MMSFI and loved the mission. As a daughter and Grand daughter to both Navy and Coast Guard Veterans, the well being and support of our military personal is close to my heart. I just joined the team as their Business Development Director so I can be part of the great work they do!
As a recently returned service member, my wife and I found ourselves facing the exciting yet challenging prospect of expecting our first child. In the midst of this joyous time, we were also aware of the financial strain that my wife's maternity leave would place on us. That's when we discovered Mass Military Support Foundation, and it has been a tremendous help to us during this important transition in our lives.
MMSFI has provided us with the little extra support we needed to ensure that my wife could take the time she needs to prepare for the arrival of our first child.
The dedication and commitment of MMSFI to assist military families like ours is truly commendable. They understand the unique challenges faced by service members and their loved ones, especially during significant life events. What impressed us the most about MMSFI is their genuine care and understanding. They recognize the sacrifices made by military families and go above and beyond to extend a helping hand. The empathy and compassion exhibited by the team at MMSFI have made us feel valued and supported, creating a sense of community and reassurance during this special time.
We are incredibly grateful for the assistance we have received from MMSFI. Their support has made a tangible difference in our lives, allowing us to fully embrace the joys and responsibilities of parenthood without the added stress of financial concerns. We highly recommend MMSFI to any military family in need of that extra support during important life transitions. They truly make a difference, and we are forever thankful for their help.
I personally have no Military background myself, but do have family members and who served in The Marnies and The Navy.
When family and I moved to Cape Cod in 2011 I kind of felt lost. I always loved giving back to my community back in my precious hometown. Anyways, I was searching Facebook some point (not sure timeline) I stumbled across Rep. Steve Xiarhos’s page I reached out to him asking him if he knew of places who helped Veterans out . He mentioned The Empowerment Center on the base and to reach out to Fran so I did and volunteered for a few years there. I caught wind that a new Empowerment Center was opening in Sandwich so I started volunteering there for a bit. Some point later Don Cox and Dawn asked for me to come in the office, so I did and they offered me a job due to my work ethic, so I accepted it. That’s how I became a part of a great team and a great Nonprofit. Love what this nonprofit does for Veterans and their families. Love learning new things about this nonprofit each day I come into work . Heats off to MMSFI!

We’ve recently retired and with this economy , it reminds us of what is was like when we were active duty raising our children. How we wish services like this could have been available to us back then. All of that being noted, let’s mention how great the staff is at the Sandwich Empowerment Center. So vey helpful, from signing us up to explaining the entire working process. As a Veteran, I’ve always been proud of my years of service. I also appreciate the exceptional service and professionalism from the personnel at this facility. Thanks for being there for us.

It's been amazing going to the Sandwich Empowerment. All the volunteers are so helpful and friendly. Always offering to help carry our bags for us. With us being on a limited income, this organization has been a blessing. Thank you Sandwich Empowerment!!
After Mom passed away in 2021, it's been just Dad and I trying to make ends meet, especially during the rising cost of living/inflation prices. He is a disabled senior on a fixed income, and I am a disabled combat veteran. Receiving groceries thru the Massachusetts Military Support Foundation has made a critical impact on our lives, not only for food security. It allows us to save a little extra each week in order to stay on top of our monthly bills. Thank you MMSF!
Only just found out about this place from a friend. It is a lifesaver. My husband just passed and without his income I have been struggling. My husband served in the Army during Vietnam. He would and I am very thankful I found this place. Thank you to all that make this program happen. You could never know what this means to me. Barb.
As a volunteer, I see countless veterans take advantage of the services we offer. Occasionally I am lucky enough to hear their stories. One of the consistent messages I hear is how helpful our organization is to them, and how much it means to them to have the kindness and support we offer. Many veterans have told me our organization makes a positive difference in their lives.
I first discovered MMSFI through a volunteer event where I was asked to assist with a one-time event. Little did I know that this encounter would lead to a life-changing commitment. From the moment I stepped foot into their operation, I was captivated by the incredible work they do, the people they help, and the profound impact they make on the lives of veterans and their families.
Having the opportunity to meet and interact with the veterans and their families has been nothing short of amazing. Their stories, resilience, and strength have left an indelible mark on my heart. MMSFI truly understands the challenges faced by veterans and their families, and they have designed a program that offers invaluable support, assistance, and resources.
The dedication and passion exhibited by the team at MMSFI are awe-inspiring. Week after week, they tirelessly work to make a difference in the lives of those who have served our country. The program they have created is a beacon of hope for veterans.
What sets MMSFI apart is not just the services they offer, but the genuine care and compassion they extend to every individual they serve. They create a warm and welcoming environment, fostering a sense of belonging and camaraderie among the veterans and their families. It's evident that MMSFI is driven by a deep-rooted desire to make a positive impact and empower those who have sacrificed so much for our freedom.
One thing that struck me during my time with MMSFI is the unfortunate lack of awareness about the incredible opportunities and support available to veterans. It's disheartening to think that more people aren't aware of the remarkable work being done by this organization. I wish more individuals knew about the invaluable resources and assistance that MMSFI provides, as it has the potential to change countless lives.
My experience with MMSFI has been nothing short of transformative. The opportunity to volunteer with such a remarkable organization has opened my eyes to the challenges faced by veterans and the immense impact that can be made when we come together to support them. I wholeheartedly recommend MMSFI to anyone seeking to make a difference in the lives of veterans and their families. It's a truly wonderful program that deserves greater recognition and support.
I’ve had the opportunity to volunteer for a few of the projects administered by the MMSFI and can’t say enough to about how great the program is in helping veterans and their families. The variety of services provided is amazing! Seeing the smiles on the faces of those who take advantage of these services is so rewarding to everyone involved.

I was a volunteer for the Military Foundation of Cape Cod most of last year picking up and delivering food donations from the various supermarkets on the Cape. Their tremendous work during the pandemic alone was a great assist in providing food to the entire Cape Cod Community including veterans, military members and their families. The Foundation during the best of times operates a food bank on base for military members and their families across the Cape along with a series of special events including the Base's Children Christmas Party. My entire family and I donate to the Foundation in honor of their support of our military families. It is monies well spent.
As a volunteer at MMSFI, it could not be more rewarding to be part of giving back to our Military, their families and Veterans. Their service and dedication are the reason for our freedom today. MMSFI has opened Empowerment Centers across the state that provide food, clothing and everyday essentials . The volunteers are part of a very special family dedicated to assisting our Military, their families and Veterans in every way possible. I am proud to be a member of this truly special organization.

“Every time I walk through the doors of the Empowerment Center to volunteer my time with MMSFI, I am struck by the dedication and selflessness I see. Directors and volunteers offer their time to organize, sort, clean, and stock shelves with donated food items, baby and nursery items, and over-the-counter medications and personal items to provide military personnel and their families with those day-to-day necessities. I observe, first hand, the sincere desire and commitment of those involved in MMSFI to serve those who serve us, in a dignified and respectful way. It is humbling to experience the appreciation expressed by the service men and women who visit our center.” DMR

As a volunteer, it is rewarding and an honor to provide support for those that are serving /have served this great Country. MMSF serves active duty, veterans, and retired military personnel. The Empowerment Center has perishable and non-perishable food items, clothes, and baby items available at no charge to military personnel. It is an inviting atmosphere and a useful resource for those living on or near the Cape.
It gives me great pleasure to volunteer for the Massachusetts Military Support Foundation. It could be seeing the smiles on the veterans, families and children when we had our huge Christmas party on the base (prior Covid). We also have the Empowerment Center that is well stocked with an assortment offood. From canned items, dairy products and frozen goods and all at no charge. These are just a couple of things we do to help support our vets. Our veterans deserve it and very much appreciate everything we do for them. Why not? Think about all they do for us.
The volunteers who work with the Mass Military Support Foundation are a truly dedicated group of individuals. They not only work hard, but their actions always show how much they care about our military clients, our veterans and their families, and they exhibit the utmost respect for all our clients. Everyone who is involved with this operation feels like they are part of a big, loving family. We are all very proud to be a part of this excellent foundation.
I volunteer at Food4vets in Sandwich…such a rewarding day when we see the Veterans & they are so thankful & happy for this program…a lot of them are on limited income & the boxes of products is so welcomed by them … the smiles are so wonderful to see … Always remember to thank a Vet!!! ♥️
What an amazing resource for local military families! This foundation supplies daily food items AND baby/toiletry items for any military member with access to the Otis AFB. The staff is friendly and helpful and goes above and beyond. Staff ensures that people visiting the Empowerment Center feel welcome and find everything they need for their families. The Empowerment Center has a wealth of products for our local families and provides a great resource.
I am a veteran who volunteers at the Empowerment Center, one aspect of the many services and support for our military families, providing food, clothing and medicine at no cost. Behind the scenes I witness volunteers who truly care for our military and there families. Everything is done first rate and the positive impact is wonderful and heartwarming to see. I couldn’t more highly rank MMSF!
I was talking to a woman on Maternity Leave from the U.S. Coast Guard. The Empowerment Center on. Joint Base Cape Cod was he only source of food until she can get back to active duty.
As a volunteer at MMSFI for almost three years, it has been one of the most rewarding experiences in my life. To be able to give back to our military, their families and Veterans thru this amazing nonprofit is just an incredible "high". Mr. Don Cox, founder, is selfless, driven and dedicated to those who fight to keep us safe each and every day. Thru numerous fundraisers, events and supplying food, clothes and more, we are able to make military lives a bit less worrisome. God Bless Them All and Keep Them Safe !!!!!!!!!!
From providing children with backpacks for elementary school to scholarships for college, the MMSFI is there to help. Meanwhile additional assistance is provided if needed. Food and nutrition assistance, a Christmas celebration, emergency assistance such as financial aid, and any assistance the family of a deployed Soldier, Sailor, or Airman needs can be provided. The MMSFI has made great strides in developing a program to assist the military and Coast Guard across the state and is continuing to grow.
A couple of my students enlisted the help of our National Honor Society students to collect toys for Military Families during the holidays. The Gerrish Family came to pick up the toys from our high school and delivered them to Cape Cod where they were distributed to Military Families. Great organization and a wonderful opportunity to support our troops here and abroad!
My Grandson and his family have been involved with this organization. They do fantastic work in collecting backpacks for students and Christmas presents for children of the military.
I have been volunteering almost full time for the MMSFI since January, 2018. This is a wonderful organization that provides support to the men and women of our armed services and their families. They conduct christmas parties and presents for the children of those who serve, easter egg hunts, and halloween candy giveaways. They provide backpacks full of school supplies for over 3,500 military children the first week of school in the Fall. Soon, they will be opening a Baby Pantry, and a Food Pantry to assist young military families. MMSFI also provides warmth kits and boots to homeless veterans. This is the most wonderful organizationI have ever been a part of.

The Mass. Military Support Foundation, Inc has accomplished exceptional support to military, US Coast Guard personnel and veterans. Specifically the MMSFI has organized and provided a December holiday party focused on providing toys and gifts for military children. Additionally the MMSFI has collected donations from various stores and organized volunteers to provide school supplies/backpacks to military children through a program called "OPERATION BACK PACK". The MMSFI sponsors an annual Outstanding Military Members Of The Year Awards event that brings together all the Cape Cod and Southeastern Massachusetts area military units/organizations into a gala evening event to honor those uniformed members who have gone above and beyond in their official duties. The generosity and time that the volunteers and leaders of the MMSFI have given is tremendously appreciated by members of the US Air Force, US Air Force Auxiliary, US Coast Guard, US Coast Guard Auxiliary, Air National Guard, Army, Army National Guard and their dependents assigned to Joint Base Cape Cod and US Coast Guard Sector Southeastern New England.
I learned of this Foundation on TV couple of years ago when the news of it's storage of toys burned during a warehouse fire. I was able to collect toys and rushed it to the Foundation. They were very appreciative. I was able to do the same the following year and the same warm reception. Although I did not attend the Holiday party, from the pictures of smiling faces of children I saw, it looked like another successful event. For me and for those that donated, it provided a meaningful way of supporting our heroes!!!
This organization does so much for so many military families throughout Massachusetts! Their commitment to help and organize fundraisers is beyond words! Their selfless acts of kindness, volunteerism and support to the military families has helped so many in times of need. I am proud to support this organization!! Thank you for all you do!
