Causes: Education, Scholarships, Scholarships & Student Financial Aid
Mission: This foundation's non-profit purpose is to continue Mr. Harry A. Aikey and Mrs. Ruth M. Aikey's legacy into the future by helping in the education of future educators through a scholarship program, which will assist in the expansion of the knowledge of individuals concerning the world around them and all that it entails through the use of financial assistance.
Results: From 2003-2014, we have been able to support and fund 14 deserving students in their goals of becoming a early or middle childhood education teacher.
Target demographics: Helping in the Education of Future Educators(tm)
Direct beneficiaries per year: Pay for their full tuition for 4 students in order to help them achieve their goals of receiving a bachelor degree in eduction
Geographic areas served: Amherst, Avon, Avon Lake, Berea, Birmingham, Brookpark, Columbia Station, Elyria, Grafton, Kipton, LaGrange, Lorain, Middleburg Heights, North Ridgeville, Oberlin, Olmsted Falls, Rochester, Sheffield Lake, South Amherst, Strongsville, or Wellington, Ohio
Programs: Ruth M. Aikey Memorial Scholarship provides one new four-year of full-tuition scholarship for those in the early or middle childhood education programs attending Kent State University.
