Mission: Joy of Community Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, whose mission is to support access to education, healthcare, and community development projects in Kazo District, Uganda.
Results: Joy of Community Foundation currently works directly with three schools in the Kazo District to connect student in need with international sponsors to cover the monthly costs of school fees, boarding supplies, and meals. Sponsorships also provide students with access to a healthcare facility through our collaboration with HEVIA Uganda. In addition to working directly with 52 sponsored students, Joy of Community also serves the broader community in the Kazo District through development projects and infrastructure improvements. We continue to focus our efforts in the Kazo District, as our multi-year relationship with community leaders allows us to provide the attention to detail necessary to target both emergent and long term goals for community development. The collaboration between Joy of Community Foundation’s American and Ugandan teams work hand-in-hand to turn potential and philanthropy into the joy of community.
