This group of dedicated volunteers makes a difference in Hampton Roads and beyond! Last year over 1500 patients were seen at TREE. This is tremendous undertaking and can only be accomplished with the help of each and every volunteer. As a volunteer myself, I have monitored several bird nesting sites and brought babies into care that have fallen out of their nest. In one location, I have made several artificial islands that baby Common Terns can use as refuge after falling out of their nest into the water. I have been on a rescue that involved a tree climber from a tree removal service to rescue a baby Great Blue Heron from a nest high in a pine tree. Its parents were attacked by a Bald Eagle and died, and its kind human neighbors called us. Every day brings new challenges, but our team can handle anything Mother Nature sends our way. As much as our volunteers help with day-to-day cleaning and rescues, we still rely on donations to be able to do what we do. 1500+ little mouths to feed + lots of clean up = $$ Please consider joining us as a volunteer or donating to our cause and help our reach extend a little farther.

This is a dedicated group of people who do their absolute best with sick and/or injured wildlife. I've personally seen the care, love, kindness, consideration, and the great lengths the volunteers go to to save any animal who is in need of help from illnesses and injuries. and some who have ended up in the wrong region from where they're supposed to be. Top notch folks who I've contacted many times about injured birds, and who I've taken injured birds to, who deserve all the praise in the world for what they do for the animals. If I could give more than five stars I would.

I have rescued animals for TREE, transported medical supplies, taken animals to appointments, helped feed, clean, and care for thousands of patients at TREE for years. The positive impact this organization has on our environment is immense. The need for TREE has grown over the years and so has my desire to make an impact on my community as a volunteer. I am proud to have the opportunity to help wildlife, our communities, and preserve our ecosystems in the Tidewater area for future generations to enjoy!

TREE is 100% volunteer, 100% donation supported. They care for dozens of patients at a time (350+ during baby season) and 1300+ every year. If you're looking for a rewarding volunteer opportunity or a noble cause to donate to, this is it!
