Nonprofit Overview
Causes: Crime & Law, Disaster Aid, Law Enforcement
Mission: The mission of the tucson police foundation is to: promote and provide public safety in the tucson community; support crime intervention, prevention, and reduction strategies; raise and allocate funds for equipment and projects outside the normal city of tucson budgeting process; and increase awareness and interaction with the tucson police department.
Target demographics: provide our Police Officers and agencies we partner with, the critical life-saving equipment, technology and training opportunities
Direct beneficiaries per year: fund the purchase of a bomb K9 'Skip'for the University of Arizona Police Department, rifle-rated ballistic shields for the Pima County Sheriff's Department and the Marana Police Department, heat sensors/alarm equipment for the K9 patrol vehicles for the Tucson Police Department and the University of Arizona Police Department, provided gas masks for Marana Police Department and K9 training obstacles and gear for the Tucson Police Department.
Geographic areas served: the greater Tucson metro area to partner with local law enforcement agencies
Programs: Thank A Cop. Donate to SALEF and the money you provide allows SALEF to fund our local police agencies with items such as ballistic vests, ballistic shields, audio/visual robotics, K9's and Bomb Dogs, heat sensor/alarm equipment to save the K9's while in the vehicles, officer training opportunities. S. T. A. R. T. Safe teen accident reduction training, teach area teens aged 16 to 19 off-road recovery, evasive steering, skid recovery and other accident avoidance maneuvers. Classes are taught by professional driving instructors of the Tucson Police Department.
