Mission: The mission of Community Conscience is to provide a single location where human service programs are available and accessible at no cost to recipients and to maximize coordination among agencies.
Results: Community Conscience, a non-profit 501 (C) (3), owns and operates the Human Services Center building in Thousand Oaks, CA where 13 human service non-profits are housed rent–free. At our building persons in need can access many free services in one location. Money the agencies save in rent, about $300,000 annually, is used for their client programs. These agencies work as allies, referring clients to each other to provide comprehensive and coordinated services. Through our building’s agencies, over 53,000 people per year receive support services including dental, legal, medical, homeless assistance, employment training, life skills and advocacy for disabled, fitness classes, bullying prevention, hospice care, grief support, domestic violence and human trafficking shelter, pregnancy, infant, youth, and senior support.
