Mission: The mission of Shelburne Farms is to cultivate a conservation ethic by teaching and demonstrating the stewardship of natural and agricultural resources. At the heart of what we do is the practice of sustainable rural land use and the care for and sharing of Shelburne Farms as an historic place of exceptional natural and architectural beauty. Our program goals are to increase awareness and appreciation for natural and agricultural resources and the working landscape, and to inspire active stewardship of the environment. If we are successful, a growing number of caring and ecologically-literate citizens will make wise choices that contribute to a sustainable future.
