My family and I love Clairbourn. We feel so grateful that we are able to send our children to this school. After a brief stint in the Alhambra School District, it was very important for my family to find a school with high academic standards where my children could learn at a developmentally appropriate pace and Clairbourn ticked all the boxes. The teachers are very cognizant of social emotional learning and my children have loved all of their teachers. Due to the school’s specialist teachers, my fourth grader can now play trumpet, design his own video games and create stunning art projects. The community of the school is very welcoming and there are many, diverse opportunities for parents to be involved. The leadership at the school is very accessible and open to dialogue. Clairbourn fulfills all our educational needs and more, providing a welcoming community, outstanding academics, and diverse opportunities, leaving us deeply grateful for our children's schooling experience.
My daughter went to Clairbourn school from JPK, it’s been her 6th year in Clairbourn. She loves Clairbourn, the teachers are nice, and every morning, Dr Patzlaff ( president of school) welcomes kids with her sunny and warmly smile. Clairbourn’s daily routine morning assembly is very special for kids to practice their speech in front of public, and Dr Patzlaff always encourages kids and give them support to speak loudly and clearly. I love Clairbourn school.
It is without a doubt in my mind that Clairbourn has made all 3 of my kids who they are today. Clairbourn has had such a tremendous positive influence on them that I’ve noticed the changes almost immediately. The Clairbourn class size is small and intimate so the students can learn and interact constantly with one another while the teachers can teach and inspire simultaneously. Clairbourn have taught my kids so many important values such as kindness, respect, confidence and empathy. All 3 of our kids have been at Clairbourn from 2012 to 2020. Our kids are now at an International School and everyone we’ve encounter have commented on how they are so kind, well behaved, mature and responsible. They are reluctant leaders in their classes and are never too busy to lend a helping hand in class, their school sport teams and in their community charities. Thank you Clairbourn!
Clairbourn is an AMAZING school and I highly recommend it. Clairbourn offers a solid foundation, academically, socially and progressively all at the same time. I am an alumna and because Clairbourn has made such a significant positive impact on me, I knew I would only want my children to come to Clairbourn. One strong element that sets Clairbourn apart from other schools is that they position themselves to play a major role in the overall personality and character building of their students. Their mission statement "Creating scholars and leaders with heart" is exactly what the school does....Clairbourn provides the environment for students to adopt great ethical practices and learn critical work ethic habits that bring out the students' potentials in many ways. I have observed at Clairbourn that social and emotional learning is emphasized as much as academic learning. I've witnessed my girls learning about values such as fairness, respect, and honesty as part of everyday lessons in and out of the classroom. Evenmore, they have trained my girls to pick up wonderful work ethics that I am most grateful because it is a habit that is not easy to acquire but Clairbourn does it so effortlessly. As evidenced Clairbourn has earned a great reputation and they have prepared their children academically very well by placing graduating students in the top high schools every year. I can not say enough good things about Clairbourn and what they have given to my girls and myself....a treasure!
This is the third year we are in Clairbroun. The principal is always at the front door to greet and talk with families in the morning everyday. The faculty and staff go above and beyond to give each student the care and attention they need. The school has an excellent education, not only provides a safe, warm and beautiful environment, but also helps the students develop interests in different subjects. My son did not like mathematics before he entered Clairbourn. But now he is highly interested in mathematics and likes every class in Clairbourn. My son looks forward to seeing his classmates and teachers everyday. We are lucky to be a part of the Clairbourn community.
We’ve been at Clairbourn for 6 years and have loved every minute! All the teachers , staff and family are all wonderful. I couldn’t ask for a better school for my daughter. She looks forward to attending each morning.
Our son has attended Clairbourn for 8 years. His love of learning has been fostered and cultivated by the teachers that he has had over the years. He loves going to school each day to see friends and teachers. He is challenged by the curriculum and is learning how to be a good citizen. You can always get in touch with the teachers and administration if you have any questions about the school or your child. The school leads by example whether it be by volunteering in the community, speaking at morning assembly or just being kind human beings. They truly are Creating Scholars and Leaders with Heart!
We had a very smooth transition to Clairbourn from my daughter’s old school. Coming to Clairbourn could be regarded as a turning point in my daughter's life. All teachers and staffs are very nice. We like the Chapel assembly every morning. It gave kids a chance to speak in public and make announcements to the school about upcoming events and updates. Clairbourn is a very close knit community where you will be always welcomed by the staffs and parents no matter if you are new there. Kids will make a lifelong friends there no matter which high school they end up choosing. Clairbourn focus on building kids’ leadership skills, offering opportunities such as entrepreneur fair every year as well as encouraging kids’ individual musical or artistic pursuits through awarding scholarships. Clairbourn has a wonderful campus. There is not only a beautiful and spacious soccer field but also heated swimming pool and a new baseball batting cage. My daughter tells me that her fondest memories of Clairbourn are her times spent volunteering at Cougar Corner, a small snack shop on campus. Most of all, I think the unwavering leadership of Clairbourn teachers and staff really makes this school a great place to be. We really miss the times where Dr Nafie performed guitar for the students in the chapel, and the times where Dr Patzlaff persisted and continued to give the much needed, encouraging morning talks online. We also love the weekly Clairbourn E-courier very much. It includes valuable information concerning school news. We appreciate the Alumni events very much, which allows us to stay within the Clairbourn family even after we graduate. Of course, Clairbourn kids always have successful high school admissions processes every year and they are fully able to continue their success in all aspects of education after graduation.
My daughter attended Clairbourn school for 10 years and is now a junior in high school. We are amazed to see her academic success. Clairbourn School has provided an environment for her to develop interests in art, drama, coding, robotics, and music. We want to shout out her violin teacher, who patiently taught her how to play the violin for 4 years. Her teacher even spent extra time with my daughter during lunch and after school to practice playing songs together for upcoming concerts.
My daughter tried new things at Clairbourn, like acting in the Shakespeare play. So much work goes on behind the scenes in preparation for this event: the student actors spend countless of hours rehearsing, the drama teachers prepare all the costumes and props, and the maintenance crew set up the stage and light fixtures. It is a collaborative effort, and everyone’s hard work really pays off in the final show.
Clairbourn also prepares students to care about their community. The school organized the elementary student choir to visit and perform at Sunrise Senior Living across the street. The elderly folks were delighted to see the small kids singing Christmas carols. In another volunteering opportunity, the students had a week to ask their family and friends to donate pocket change to the Door of Hope in Pasadena. They visited the Door of Hope to donate the money they gathered and got to hear the residents talk about their lives and struggles with homelessness. The kids learned that small acts of kindness can make a big impact on people’s lives.

Clairbourn School has a very high academic standard and is constantly keeping it updated to provide the best education possible. Students are encouraged and helped to be independent thinkers and problem solvers as they are being educated to a standard that allows them to be accepted into the high schools of their choice and later on into university. Hearing back from alumnae substantiates this.
Also, this school has a high ethical standard that students are encouraged to adhere to. The mission is to produce leaders that can help solve problems and be contributors for the betterment of their communities, country and the world, as well as have a satisfying and enriching carreer.
Both of my kids attended Clairbourn School beginning in Kindergarten. My eldest is now a senior in high school. They both received a fantastic education and loved the time they spent there. We loved the emphasis on character and citizenship as well as academics. The teachers are kind and they both received a well-rounded education and were well-prepared for high school.
Clairbourn is such a special school! It's amazing to see the academic success students can have when they are in an environment that gives them a positive self-concept and excellent work-ethic, allowing them to take advantage of their full educational opportunities. This is such a kind and supportive peer environment with highly involved parents and caring, attentive teachers. It is cool to be a good student at Clairbourn and the kids really cheer for one another as they explore their interests and try new things. This goes for sports, drama, engineering, art, and music. I went there as a student and I love how well-rounded my skills are today. It has served me well.
