We love almost home RI! We received our furry friend, Trixie from them and the experience was incredible. Almost Home RI was honest and caring. They replied to us quickly and made the dog adoption process incredibly easy. They take time to ensure pets find a great forever home! Every interaction was lovely and I cannot recommend Almost Home RI enough. I really love how they truly care about animals.
This rescue seems very suspect, be VERY cautious as we contacted them multiple times through multiple mediums over the course of 2 weeks and we got no communication back (but Instagram and Facebook posts were flowing the entire time?)

Thankful for this rescue and all of their help re-homing our 7 year old dog. Everyone we worked with was understanding, thorough, and considerate each step of the way, guiding us through the difficult process of finding the perfect new home for our dog.
We recently adopted our 2 year old St Bernie from Almost Home RI and Carla and Melissa made the whole experience as painless as possible. At some point, every single one of us got sick, but Carla and Melissa made sure to communicate and come up with solutions to make sure we got to meet our dog and ensure the right fit. They’re very thorough in making sure dogs go to good homes and following up with new dog parents to make sure we’re figuring it all out. I definitely cried more than once to Carla! They’ve been a wonderful resource as our pup gets settled in and we know we’ll be in touch for years!
Carla and Almost Home Rescue is the best Rescue in RI. They take the most difficult dogs and spend a tremendous amount of time, energy & funds on ensuring they get proper medical care and are placed in loving homes with follow up. I honestly do not even know where to start! Almost Home Rescue has been the biggest blessing and I was able to adopt my best friend! I have so much respect and admiration for every single volunteer with this organization and Carla is honestly the best! Not only do they have full time jobs and families but they all manage to make these animals a top priority. They are so well cared for and only placed with the perfect home for that particular pet. They aren’t in a rush to just adopt a dog out to just anyone because they truly care about the well being of all of their dogs. Carla will literally almost never say no to a dog in need of help no matter what the cost or situation. It is truly incredible. I have spoken very highly of Almost Home Rescue to anyone and everyone I meet and always recommend them to anyone looking to adopt, foster or volunteer. Thank you so much for everything you all do!
Amazing rescue! Carla and John really care deeply for the dogs. We love our Wesley and would have never known we needed him if it wasn't fro Almost Home Rescue!
I adopted a Rottweiler from this group nine years ago. They went over every detail about the dogs likes and dislikes, food, bathroom schedule and left me with a bag of toys and treats for my Tyson. Tyson needed an acl surgery five years ago and they donated a few hundred dollars back to me. My guy is old now and they still check in on him every so often . I definitely recommend.

It's unfortunate that people find it necessary to post a negative review because we didn't adopt a dog to them. We have a good idea who you are and you are childish to say the least. If you are not a match for the dog you applied for, we do not contact you. The review left here has absolutely nothing to do with how we conduct our rescue nor any mistreatment of the animals in our care. Actually if you talk to ANY animal control in the State of Rhode Island, our reputation is stellar. Sorry we didn't adopt to you but since this is how you deal with disappointment, we made the correct decision.
