Causes: Child Abuse Prevention, Crime & Law, Domestic Violence, Sexual Abuse Prevention
Mission: The St. Clair County Child Abuse/Neglect Council works toward the PREVENTION and ultimate ELIMINATION of child abuse and neglect and strives to protect the dignity of all children.
Target demographics: educate children and the community about child abuse and reduce the trauma caused by the abuse
Geographic areas served: St. Clair County
Programs: Promotes the awareness as well as the prevention of child abuse through professional education and direct primary prevention activity in schools, provide singular forensic interviews of children of alleged sexual or severe physical abuse to eliminate the further trauma of having to tell their story multiple times to multiple people, provide advocacy services the victims and their families, provide trauma focused therapy for victims and their families, and provide support groups.
