I had the pleasure of spending a lot of time with Luke, a service dog in training, early in his education. After just a few weeks I noticed how well he had taken to his trainers’ handling.
In the second picture, just moments before the first picture was taken, he was very apprehensive about walking over the glass floor. With the gentlest bit of encouragement he was totally comfortable with it! Canine Champions for Veterans couldn’t have gotten a better buddy for a deserving American veteran.
I’ve worked closely with the founder, Lauren, and I’ve never seen someone put so much of themselves into something.
She’s so committed to every veteran to not only make sure they’re getting the dog they need, but to make sure they’re just doing well overall.
The veterans that get her service dogs show huge improvements and find them to be critical to their day to day.

CCV does amazing things for veterans! They do such a great job at pairing really good service dogs with people that really have a need. I have seen lives changed because of these good people and great service dogs.
I love this organization! I’ve been a part of helping to train dozens of dogs for them and have been involved in delivering two service dogs to more than deserving veterans. It is so amazing to see the length the organization goes through to ensure a good pairing between dog and veteran and they follow up with every single service dog team to make sure they are continuing to grow and work well together. Seeing how the dogs increase the quality of life for these veterans is so rewarding and inspiring.
This Great Organization connected me with my amazing dog Colonel. He has been a great service dog. I get so many compliments on how well behaved he his and just how cute he is as well. He has truly helped me get back out and not be so nervous about going into crowed areas because he is there to help me. He has even woken me up in the middle of the night because he knew I was having a nightmare. Anytime he notices any of my triggers he immediately starts getting my attention. I can’t thank y’all enough for this and Ty and his crew does amazing work with trading these guys. This organization is a wonderful idea. People today don't seem to appreciate veterans and their services as they should. This organization has allowed brave men and women to live normal lives despite the injuries received while serving our nation. There are few things more commendable than selflessly serving our veterans and that is what this organization is all about. It's also worth remembering that they are providing dogs a good home where they can be loved and appreciated.
I absolutely love Canine Companions for Veterans! I have seen first hand what a wonder these dogs can do for our veterans. Canine for Companions can really save lives. The people who work for this organization are wonderful and caring and they truly know what they are doing. When you are so dedicated to the work you do it definitely shows. I have heard the stories of how the dogs bless and improve the veterans’ lives. And it really touches my heart knowing how passionate about the work the organization is and how their main goal is to improve others’ lives. I really want to have an event and have them as a speaker.
Canine Companions for Veterans donated a much needed service dog to my husband, a veteran with PTSD and a Purple Heart recipient. They have provided continued support of his new service dog with close communication with them and the trainer as my husband transitions his new life with his service dog. He is more confident going out in public places by himself and getting involved in life in general. Before getting Rhino, his service dog, he was hesitant to leave home and going to new places was close to impossible because of the anxiety of being in crowds or around new people. Now it's hard for me to find him at home. He's always on the go with his new best friend Rhino. We can actually have fun when we go out instead of being watchful of crowds. Thank you to this wonderful organization for giving my husband a chance to enjoy life again!
