Mission: Texas muslim women's foundation empowers, promotes, and supports all women and their families through educational, philanthropic, and social services including domestic violence prevention and intervention programs, youth leadership activities, interfaith dialogues and islamic art series education.
Programs: Domestic violence emergency shelter - texas muslim women's foundation provides emergency shelter to victims of domestic violence, especially women and their children who need safe and confidential shelter from domestic violence. Clients from throughout the dallas-fort worth metroplex may reside at the shelter for up to 90 days. During 2017, due to unforeseen circumstances, some clients stayed more than 90 days. The foundation served 68 clients at the shelter.
domestic violence education, client outreach and social services - texas muslim women's foundation provides and enhances culturally specific/ trauma informed services to victims of family violence, sexual assault, and dating violence including safety planning, case management, consultation and representation both for immigration and family law, financial economic well-being assistance, and other social services assistance. The foundation also collaborates with community partners to build knowledge of domestic violence in muslim families and to develop education and prevention strategies that highlight culturally specific issues. The foundation also educates the general public about resources and services available regarding domestic violence. During 2017, the foundation provided case management, counseling & other support to 379 clients and consultation & other services up to 5460.
transitional housing - texas muslim women's foundation provides transitional housing to abused victims and their children from throughout the dallas-fort worth metroplex who are victims of domestic violence. During 2017, the foundation provided transitional housing to 40 clients staying in 5-10 apartments leased by the foundation and provided rent-free to the clients who may reside in the housing for 6 to 12 months.
if you are muslim that's great but if you are not, they really don't help and also have seen the way employees are treated if they are not muslim they are suppose to help All women, but not true
It has been brought to my attention on more than one occasion that the non-profit leans more towards helping their Muslim community. It has also been noticed by social services team members that when it comes to food donations during the Muslim holidays it is for Muslim clients
TMWF has helped so many women and children who have gone through horrible domestic abuse, no matter if they are Muslim or not. They are truly an amazing organization. They also have a youth group that goes out volunteering once a month so if you'd like to volunteer contact youth@tmwf.org
