I became involved with Mature Ministries around 2013 after hearing pastor Wayne and Linda speak at our church. I was moved and motivated by what God had done through two ordinary individuals who saw not only physical needs but spiritual needs in the people of Nicaragua. Since that time our family became increasingly involved in what Nicaragua Missions of Mature Ministries was doing to assist the families of around 15 pastors and their congregations in several towns and villages. In 2015 I participated in a week long mission trip with others. In 2016 I and my son participated in a week long mission trip during which we helped construct a home for a pastor. Since then we have been regular donors to special projects and needs identified in the lives of many people identified by local pastors. Mature Ministries has had and continues to have a strong effort to provide much needed pastoral training for men often with little access to formal education multiplying their outreach. The result of changed lives for eternity and the opportunity to participate in God's great plan of redemption make this one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.
As a young child, I always wondered what it would be like to be a missionary. When I met the Edwards family, I knew that this was my opportunity to fulfill my dream. I have been to Nicaragua seven times with Mature Ministries. My heart for those people has changed my life. I experienced the joy of salvation in a new way. The act of sharing Jesus with others came alive. I was actually in Nicaragua on a mission trip when my husband died in his sleep. He had been with me several times and told me the night before he died that he was praying for our mission and wished he could be with me. I could never put into words what this experience has meant to my life. Mature Ministries has so much compassion for the Nicaraguan people and they really know how to serve our Lord in a special way within the country in numerous villages and families. Every mission was well planned for and the funds are always used in appropriate ways. They have taught the ministers through Bible study so they can serve their congregations and they/we continue to meet the needs of the people in various ways even though currently we cannot go there.
This ministry is worthy of your consideration. Every dollar donated goes into the ministry of spreading the gospel to the people of Nicaragua. Pastor Wayne, who leads the ministry is a loving, dedicated minister of the gospel who seeks no recognition for himself, but only that Christ be glorified. His loving wife, Linda, serves by his side.
